Sims standing around instead of taking care of toddler (Patch 1.120.140/2.26)

I've tried updating my mods and taking them out of the game, but nothing is working. My adult sims take hours to start an interaction with toddlers and infants and will most of the time discard the interaction altogether. When trying to "Read to toddler" my sims will be right next to the toddler, have the book in his hand, stand around for a couple of minutes and put the book away. I've tried debugging or moving them to another room with no luck. When I try to get my sims to use to toilet but they are holding the infant, they will take the infant to the toilet with them, realize they have the infant, put infant down, then I'll have them try to use the bathroom again just for them to pick up the infant and repeat the process. This is making the game unplayable for me as I tend to have more family-focused saves in the Sims 4. I like the challenge that babies give in the game, but this is an absolute nightmare when I'm trying to play without cheats.

I had avoid playing with infant for a long time and kid you not, this is even worse now...

Infant are litteraly always fussy and sad, and I think I figured it out, when they get sad, the parent can't finish any action with them... I asked 5 time and reset the mother to take her sad son to eventually have him be breastfed... well, nothing happened, they stood staring at each other doing nothing at all.

He had the tired moodlet while still being super high in the green energy wise... I tried at that point to read a toddler book to him... she took the book, sat on the couch and both staring at each other doing nothing, frozen in time... I tried that multiple time and she never started to read the book, the action get cancelled each and everytime... she could not do almost anything, except puting him in his bed, and even that was a struggle.

I play on my only save file, that is old and will not play another one, because of the massive lore I created. I have all packs and updated my game.

EA needs to be accountable and fix their broken game. I love the sims and will play still, the new EP is great, but if they want us to reinvest in that franchise with a new base game coming this year, they better turn around and find ways to fix things up.
