Sims stop cooking

So when my Sims are cooking in the middle of their cooking task they just stop and I notice the task has disappeared. I have to resume cooking two or three times in order to finish the task. It also happens more when I try to join cooking with another sim. 

No mods

No error codes

    Same issue:') They start cooking, and then pause and never get back to it. Tried different sims, including a Level 7 cook, moved and got countertops, stoves, oven. It started when I was having a birthday party for a toddler and my sim would not, for the love of god, finish making the cake. Only the grill works for me now. I don't know how to cook proper meals anymore.

    I'm having the same problem as everyone else my sims start cooking then randomly stop even when their hunger bar is low. I play on a gaming laptop with up to date drivers etc and no CC or mods.
