After the update, I loaded into my game. Another Sims of mine was walking down the street. She was all black, and I'm talking PITCH black, as if she were a silhouette. Then I realized the cat in my household was also all black to when it was spotted and white prior.
FOR ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS ISSUE: after tons of research I found out that this is an issue reported with latest update affecting tattoos and the paint wheel you use for tattoos, which is why pets are affected too. Clear tatoos and pet color wheel skins and they'll go back to normal.
Before that I thought it was mods, my file size, or cache, and also old crash files. I cleared the cache on my computer even before realizing that it was an update issue. So, if you are reading this your file isn't broken, it is just the new update probably because the fairy pack is coming out with being able to customize the wings.
DEAR EA: Please come out with an update to fix this before the fairy pack comes out, or you'll probably take a nose dive in sales.
Paint mode is broken, affects all sims, occults and pets that can be edited with paint mode through tattoos or fur painting. Already multiple posts about it.
Good, glad there is awareness, there aren't enough simmers making YouTube Videos about this yet tho, I wish I'd have seen this on Pixelade because it took me forever to figure that out.
my sim has no tattoos anymore yet she's still pitch black, surely they will manage to fix this??
I really hope so, that was such a big feature in B&H EP, so its like, we totally need that fixed. I'd be so much more upset if i REALLY got into tattoo Game Play. I made a tattoo shop but got bored of it fast. I'm glad I didn't deck the whole town out.
I am dealing with this right now - I was able to fix my sim by deleting her custom tattoos :'( which sucks, but I can live...
but my family dog made by Pugowned lost it's texture, and there's no way to fix it except to delete the custom texture that creator spent so much time on! I've had this dog for so long and he's well-trained. I don't want to replace him from the gallery. I'm so sad!

I play on XBOX S, no mods obvs. tried manually clearing my cache as well. kicking myself for not having a back up save for this family, as I usually do
That is so sad to hear about the dog in your file. It is also hard to constantly keep a back up so i feel you on not always having one. I want more people to like this post so that EA see that this is an issue this current update started. I guess some people got this bug a few updates ago but i didnt and im mad about it. I want them to fix the game!
