Sims wearing hats on nude outfit

7/17/2025 -- "Idea" updated with new information.

This is a continuation of every Bug Report here on EA Forums and back on Answers HQ concerning the bugged out underwear appearing on sims when they're supposed to be nude.

This has been broken since Update 10/22/2024, and now it's worse after Update 7/10/2025.

I did more troubleshooting. See below the embedded image. Workaround included. TL;DR: Wear no hats on "Everyday Outfit 0".

I haven't done all the troubleshooting for this new development that I'd like to yet, but if your Sim's outfits include a hat, then a hat will be present on your Nude/Bathing Outfit.

My "Everyday Outfit 0" has a hat. It's the BASE GAME "N7" beanie. None of my other outfits in any category has a hat. If I "Change into Nude" while wearing any outfit, my Nude/Bathing Outfit now includes my hat from "Everyday Outfit 0" (along with the "default" underwear).

THIS IS NOT A CUSTOM CONTENT ISSUE.

This problem is in the PYTHON files squirreled away in our INSTALL FOLDER.

I could be wrong, it could be Elsweyr, but wherever it is, I don't think it's somewhere we can mod easily from our side, else I would have found it and fixed it already.

Something concerning "Outfit Generation" was changed in Update 10/22/2024 and it blacklisted the "NudeParts" from being used for the Nude/Bathing Outfit. This is why we've been seeing underwear on our Nude/Bathing Outfits. Furthermore, the change also causes our Nude/Bathing Outfit to regenerate itself every time we manually change outfits or the game automatically changes our outfit e.g. going for a jog, a swim, to work, etc., so even if we were able to "reset" our Nude/Bathing Outfit with a mod such as Lynire/LMS' "Reset Bathing Outfit", it just breaks again the next time our outfit changes.

Now, Update 7/10/2025 has made this issue even worse by somehow managing to whitelist hats for the Nude/Bathing Outfit, despite the hats not having the "Nude" Outfit TAG!

What's next? All other accessories, perhaps?

How much worse is this going to get before someone "notices there's a problem"?

We're approaching NINE (9) MONTHS of this being unresolved.

It reminds me of the SEVEN (7) MONTHS we had to wait for an official fix for our broken spines, despite me fixing it in SEVEN (7) DAYS and sharing the solution on Answers HQ.

P.S. That orange blob is the bugged out underwear. My Sim is Male with Feminine Frame, so I get the "Salmon" Masculine Frame variant of the "Salmon" Feminine Frame underwear.

MOAR TROUBLESHOOTING:

  1. A "Headwear" item will only appear on the "Nude/Bathing Outfit" if it is part of "Everyday Outfit 0". It doesn't matter if any other outfit has a hat or if you "Change Into Nude" while wearing one of those other outfits. So, the workaround is do not wear any "Headwear" items on "Everyday Outfit 0".
  2. "Resetting" your "Nude/Bathing Outfit" with Lynire/LMS' "Reset Bathing Outfit" or my "XMODTko" can remove the "Headwear" item, but the "Headwear" item must first be removed from "Everyday Outfit 0".

ALSO:

  1. The changes made to CAS in Update 7/1 /2025 were not implemented properly. "Head Decorations" is not a proper CAS category.
  2. None of the new "Head Decoration" items are configured properly. Changing their category to "Hats" with the "Head Decoration" sub-type and fixing the other blunders fixes the items in CAS.
  3. CAS has been in a broken state since Update 2/25/2025. "Accessories" and "Makeup" for both FACE and BODY do not function properly, and something is wonky with "Tops", "Bottoms", and "Full Body".

    Did you create the Sim yourself or download from the gallery ?

    If you created him yourself, did the Sim ever have the hat on any of the outfits ? Did you maybe use the copy to all on hats when it was on ?

    No, I didn’t create her. She was birthed from a created sim. And yes as she got older the system added a hat to one of her outfits. Which I removed. I only used copy to all for just the hair.

    Can also confirm I've seen this issue happening on my side, on PC and both in an unmodded game / with Lynire/LMS' "Reset Bathing Outfit" mod installed.

    happen on my Mac to both with and with out mods.
    not jsut hats but also the new head deco items (not sure their name) like the head band and bow (yet to see any horn atleast

    I've has this issue since the Enchanted Living patch - I assume it was to do with the new headwear category. I've tested it on old save files and new save files, on sims already in the game and sims I've added to the game. It happens to the bathing outfits of all sims incl. children taking a bath or shower. I have No Mods or CC. I don't currently have script mods allowed.
