Stepfamilies won't show up in family tree after Sim passes

I had a sim with a stepmother and stepsister, but when the sim father passed away the connection to the stepfamily was removed to only where there is a connection to the sim child and the father.

Could you please provide the following information

Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
I assume just the connection is lost, the ghost Sim is still there ?
Is this a new save after the feb update or a legacy family tree ?

Hi, I have no mods or cc in the game. The ghost was still in the game and in the family tree as well. It's a save I started last month, so I guess it's legacy save. I did try again with a new household and have the ghost move on, but the same issue still happened.
