I've been working on adding extra details to my sim self, including adding my own tattoo and moles with the new custom tattoo feature. It's been awesome for adding life and realism to my sims!! However, after I made my moles, I decided to try my hand at body blushing. I've run into an issue where I cannot draw on separate tattoo layers, everything just goes on one layer. I cannot keep my moles on layer A, place layer B beneath layer A, and draw blush on layer B. It overlaps on the same layer, and the blush covers the moles.
No mods/CC. I've tried several different things to get this to work, like messing around with different layer orders/brushes/stencils etc. and trying to add tattoos from the gallery on top of each other. (The latter obviously didn't work since you can only have one tattoo per area. You should be able to add gallery tattoos to individual layers... 😭 But my layers aren't working anyways lol.)
This isn't game-breaking, but it is annoying. I'll have to paint the blush first, then start from scratch and add the moles on top. It's kind of like traditional painting. Layers only go one direction on a real canvas.
I've tried looking for YouTube videos where others are using the tattoo tool, but I haven't found any where they actually go back and forth between layers, so I'm not even sure how this tool is supposed to function. I can't be the only one? Am I just doing something wrong? 😅
I attached a screen recording with a basic demonstration.
