All of my sims were at work/school/daycare and I had it on 3x speed to make the time go by faster. It was around 6pm and nobody came back home yet. I paused and the child came home but time sped up to 3x speed. I pause immediately and it went back to 3x speed on its own. I tested it a few more times and it kept happening.
