Time/Sim freezes while environment still moves

My game began to do this a few weeks ago. I tried the repair function in the EA Games app to no avail. It seemed to happen when I sent my Sim to practice charisma indoors. But then it started happening regardless of the time or action selected. I've spent a lot of hours on it so I'd love a fix soon.

I've been playing this game for almost 10 years now, and I've never been unable to fix an issue with my game until now. My Sims time freezes at a specific time, and I can't save or do anything; just animations keep playing. I removed mods, moved lots, but sometimes it works, sometimes it happens again - no pattern whatsoever. I am completely lost and cannot play the game. Infuriating.

I think this is what is happening. I bought Sims 4 Business & Hobbies and since the first time I went into gameplay and opened my business I keep having this. I won't be able to do anything. I will try and save quit and it just stays on the saving page for ages. I will also force quit the game and relaunch it but it does the same thing within a couple of minutes and it seems that each time it happens quicker and quicker. I just want the game to work as I have literally just purchased this pack and i don't know how to fix it ! Any help would be appreciated! :) 

With the release of the latest DLC and the most recent update, this problem has been happening to me very frequently. Most of the time it resolves itself, but now it has reached absurd levels. Upon the active household returning to their home lot, the in-game time has frozen.

Right before the bug occurred, the game was set to the third simulation speed (one Sim went to sleep, and the other started painting). When pausing the game or switching to build mode, character animations and the day/night cycle outside continue to play.

After waiting for 10 minutes, I decided to exit the game, but out of habit, I clicked "Save." I have now been looking at the saving screen for 20 minutes, while the character animations and the outdoor time of day continue to change.

I have this issue. it gets to 3-4am sims time and then the time starts to lag or glitch. my sims in that time wont perform any actions and I can't click on anything to bring up any action menus. for example theyre all asleep and itll be 4am, time starts moving faster than usual and itll say its like 11am,1pm,4pm etc and my sims wont do anything its like theyr're stuck on a sleep loop. Then time will glitch back to the actual time it is, usually around 6-7am and this is happening every sim night.

I've done research and found it could be when the sims 4 internal systems carry out checks or resets etc so it being an internal process, I'm wondering, what is a good fix?
