Age Progress Bar Shows During Pregnancy

Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC (EA App / Steam)
Game Version: Latest (as of July 2025)
Mods/CC on PC: Tested both with and without mods (issue occurs regardless)
Mods/CC on PS5: Not applicable

Issue:

When a Sim becomes pregnant, the age progress bar is supposed to disappear or show that aging is paused. However, in both the PS5 and PC versions of The Sims 4, I’ve encountered situations where the number of days until the next life stage is still visible even though the Sim is pregnant.

This seems to be a UI display bug, because aging is paused as expected, but the number is still shown incorrectly.

Expected Behavior:

While a Sim is pregnant, the age bar should not display any numbers. It should simply state that aging is paused.

Actual Behavior:

The Sim shows something like “Adult in 3 days” even though she is pregnant and her aging is actually paused.

This can be misleading and makes it look like aging is continuing during pregnancy, even though it is not.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Launch The Sims 4 on PS5 or PC
  2. Make a female Sim pregnant (via natural gameplay, not cheats)
  3. Check the Simology (age) panel
  4. Observe that the days-until-aging number is still shown

Test Notes:

  • On PC, this happened both with and without mods such as MCCC or UI Cheats.
  • On PS5, where mods cannot be used, the issue also occurred, which suggests it is a base game problem.
  • Restarting the game does not always resolve the issue.
  • The number usually disappears after birth, but not always.

Suggestion:

Please review the aging UI behavior during pregnancy on both platforms. This bug causes confusion and may give the impression that the game is not correctly pausing aging.
