Unable to select traits in CAS

After I updated the sims I have been unable to select traits in cas even after removing all my mods and deleting and reinstalling the game Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title to fit old report.

ok after researching into it further I've found in a Reddit post's comments suggestions that it might've been DirectX11 that's causing this for some reason. so I've disabled it and it's back to normal, even with mods, idk why it's doing it right now.
