Unplayable on Console

Literally happening with me as well like everything stops working, can’t even save the game cos the menu freezes n won’t let me press X then I can’t get off the start screen then I’m having to close the game restart for it to happen again 

This is also happening to me, it's so frustrating. It started with the last 2-3 updates - before then it had never happened. This needs to be fixed asap or we literally can't play the game. 

I've never had my controller stop working until the last 2 days. It's like my controller completely glitches out of gameplay 

Game is completely unplayable. 

I'm a PS5 player too, and the same symptom suddenly started happening to me yesterday. When I launch the game and switch to Live Mode, all controls stop working after about a minute. It feels like the controller just stops responding entirely. I can't even open the options menu. Only the in-game clock keeps advancing. I waited about 5 minutes to see if it would resolve itself, but nothing changed, so I had to restart the game. When I avoided any input for the first 1-2 minutes, the issue didn't occur, but that might just be a coincidence. Why is this suddenly happening? I'd really appreciate it if this could be fixed soon.

I ran to the comments section to find out why this is happening to me at this moment. 

I even started a new game to make sure it wasn’t just a glitch with that specific saved game. Same thing happens. There’s no point in playing it if you can’t even click to save the game when it freezes the controller buttons up. 

This is not only happening in live mode but also in build mode. If you go into a section and try to place furniture it will freeze and not let you select or go back to exit or even open save menu. Completely frozen out of game.

On ps5 here too. Exact same thing started happening to me yesterday and continues today.  It's absolutely unplayable now.  So frustrating that after just a couple minutes of play,  I go to a sims menu to assign an action, and suddenly it freezes, except I can still move the cursor around the circular actions menu, but it will not select an action, and if the game time clock is not on pause it will just keep running without being able to do anything about it. No buttons work besides the thumb stick that just spins the selector,  but cannot select anything.  The only way out is to force close the game from the Playstation home screen. 

Same, using Xbox. Ugh so annoying! I have to force quit the game and then it happened as soon as I started it up again. My controller will let the options highlight but is gliched and cant actually choose anything or go back to gameplay

Same problem! It starts with a pie menu getting stuck and then I can’t do anything. For me it’s ”lot specific”, so far it has only happened on one lot which has a small business attached. After a few minutes of gameplay it just gets stuck and I have to close the game.

This is happening to me on ps5. It’s not just CAS! It’s happening every time I load into the game. I’ve had to go to the PlayStation menu 6 times and close the game that way, restarted my ps5 x2 and it’s still not working. My game is unplayable because it went from 2 minutes to locking, to now locking within 50 seconds of entering my game. Only the left joystick works, no buttons at all

I’ve just posted about this!!! I’ve had the same happen for quite some time but it would happen once every few hours of playing (not each time) and I’d restart and it would be fine. Today I’ve logged on and it’s been every 1-2 minutes of playing. Cannot play at all which is disappointing.

Hey all, I took my ps5 offline and was able to play for a few hours without this happening. Maybe someone else could try this and see if it works as a temporary fix!

When it does this again try opening the cheat bar. 

Same here, have closed and restarted the game a bunch of times. Just started happening today, also I just got the royalty and legacy bundle a week ago and have had significantly more problems since downloading that as well. Like issues with loading lots and the game crashing when I try to place a lot and now this issue as well. 

Happening to me too. I am so sick of these problems constantly happening every time an update happens. This is making me just want to completely stop playing the game altogether. It's getting beyond a joke now
