My Sims are appearing in Live Mode wearing random hats that I never added to any of their outfits in CAS. This affects both automatically generated townies and households that I personally created.
When I select "Change Outfit..." the same random hat appears on the Sim’s preview for every outfit category, including Everyday, Formal, Athletic, Sleep, Party, Swimwear, Hot Weather, and Cold Weather. But, when I open the Sim in CAS, the hat is not actually equipped in any outfit.
The issue seems connected to whether the household is currently active:
- When I load and play as the affected household, the random hat disappears.
- After I switch to another household and the Sim becomes unplayed again, the hat returns.
- This happens to both generated townies and Sims from households I created myself.
- The hat appears across every outfit category even though it was never assigned in CAS.
I have the most recent game update released on July 21. I completed the 50/50 method, removed all mods and custom content, deleted the cache files, and tested the game completely vanilla. I also created a brand-new save, but the same issue still occurred. None of the troubleshooting steps resolved it, so this no longer appears to be caused by a mod, custom content, or my original save file.
