[W] Corrupted Werewolves in CAS cause forever loading

I've been trying to edit a household in CAS, and the one Werewolf I have in the household causes loading errors. Everything seems fine until the game attempts to load the werewolf form in CAS. When I first load into the game, I can freely edit and switch between sims, so long as I don't click on the werewolf sim. However, once I switch to them, it does not load. When I exit CAS and then re-enter, the entire household does not load. Instead, I am stuck on the first sim that loads, unable to switch sims. The loading Icons do not stop.

Please note that if I switch to a different household after attempting to load a werewolf in another household, the icons do not load, and I cannot switch between sims.

If I exit the game completely, the loading bug seems to stop until I try to edit a werewolf again.

This loading issue also extends further. When I tried to separate the werewolf from the household, which caused the transitional loading screens to load FOREVER, forcing me to stop the game in Task Manager. Also, when I tried to save the household to the gallery, I got a gallery error.

First Time Loading CAS, trying to edit werewolf form

2nd time loading CAS, unable to switch sims.

Yes, it's with my main save, but I have backups already, so it shouldn't affect anything too drastically. This bug just makes it really difficult to do CAS on existing households w/ Werewolves. So long as I don't click on the sim and load it's werewolf form, it seems fine.

  • So I've made a copy of my save and have done some testing. Out of the 4 werewolves total (that I made) in my save, only 3 are bugged. In this copy, I used the occult editor (the thing above the traits) to turn my werewolf sim back to human, exit the game completely, then re-turn them into a werewolf. So far, the new werewolf form does not seem to cause a loading error. My guess is that somehow, those three werewolves somehow corrupted, causing the loading error.

I'm just going to use this as a workaround. It's just a bummer that I'll have to repaint a new werewolf form from memory.

    Hi Retro-Charge17

do you still have the corrupted werewolves in your gallery or the save game ? Would probably be good to attach it to your report (library files/saves) to make it easier to replicate for Maxis.

You will need to upload them to a third party site and link.
