So when I open the gallery it works normally until I select a lot to view then I can't do anything at all. Can't close out, view images, or basically interact with the page in any capacity. I've done...

I wanted to add that this is happening to me too on PS5 since the update. I haven't actually even tried interacting with the gallery, as I'm having it happen from my library. I can't interact with any of the households I've been working on in my Library, I can't edit them or download them into my game. I've also tried going into a save file and downloading them into my game from there or from a household that already exists in my game and the same thing happens. As soon as I click into a household from my Library I'm unable to interact or do anything else from that point. As others have mentioned, the music still plays and it doesn't appear that my game itself is frozen. It looks the exact same as what has been happening on consoles for awhile now, where people have reported that the buttons on the controller just stop working. The game is still working (for example if you're in CAS you can still see the Sim behind the pop-ups for the gallery and the household moving) but you essentially can't do anything and have to force close the game.
I wanted to update that there's a new issue with the workaround EA_Solaire posted that's happening for me. I started using a keyboard and mouse, unfortunately after about 45 minutes of using the keyboard/mouse to help resolve the issue the game glitched now I can't click into any household in the Library or gallery at all. I can click on them, but they won't open, almost like the game isn't recognizing that I'm clicking on them. I tried exiting my game and re-opening to see if that would fix it, but it's still happening for me. So I would maybe recommend not using the keyboard/mouse workaround for a full-play session if you're working in CAS a lot or using your Library significantly in case this might happen to you as well. I've been re-doing my base save file because crashes during gameplay have been so frequent for me, but now that avenue appears to be off the table for the interim (sigh).
