I had just booted up the game and loaded up my save when I went to interact with the computer. The interaction menu thing for the computer came up and I could use the left stick freely to move around...

EDIT: Convinced I'm correct, the issue is related to the marketplace connection. It does not happen if I play offline, but I can't feasibly play offline because certain items in my game are tied to the internet connection - such as event rewards, etc.
I think the marketplace is trying to connect to my console constantly/sporadically and that is what is causing the controller to lock up and stop working.

I'm almost certain the current controller issues are because of the marketplace sale popup. When I scroll over it, my controller buttons stop working. I think it's because scrolling over the icon makes the system try to connect to the marketplace, which I would never do while playing in a save game because it will crash. I'm PLAYING not shopping, get that thing out of here. Playing on PS5, issues started up on Friday which is the first time the dang 20% off popup started appearing. It's a permanent icon in my game, which is irritating. Hard to avoid scrolling over it. Should I just hang out in the marketplace and not play?
Thank you! I also think this must be the case - I've noticed that this "20% off sale" popup is out of control today... it's seriously so aggravating, and not the first time one of these unnecessary marketing schemes has messed up the game. I'm going to try playing offline and see how it goes.
