[FR] Can't edit R-Rental because 'your sim is currently in this lot'

Hello, I was building a residential rental lot (my sims were on the lot), and I couldn't edit areas (the eye icon was greyed out) because the game said, "Your sim is currently on the lot." I moved my sims back home and went from "manage worlds" to the residential rental to build mode. It still gave the same error. I moved the building to another lot and tried it there, but it still didn't work. I could find people with the same issue on the technical (not on the bug report) help and on Reddit,  so I think it's a bug.

  • Could you please provide the following information

    • Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
    • A screenshot of the error
    • Is anyone living in any of the apartments ?

I uninstalled and deleted my mods and there are no tenants in the building.

first picture: you can see the error.
second picture: You can see there are no tenants in the building
third picture: I tried to build a residential rental from scratch in a new safe file and the problem is still there.

    Hi vanovebeke

I merged your post with your existing thread. Please don't create multiple threads on the same issue. If you have something to add you can just post in the thread or edit your first post by clicking on the cogwheel in the upper right corner.

    Try the following

    - Close the game
    - Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    - Repair the game
    - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry.
    - Start a new save game
    - Check if you still have the error
    - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    Hello,

I renamed my folder, started a new game and unfortunately, I had the same issue. I made a screenshot. I tried replying to your previous post but I had trouble with it, so I made a new one. Sorry for the inconvenience.
