What happened in your game today?
Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today. I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here. So what's happened in your game today? Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!). I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works! Look forward to seeing what's happening in your games. X14KViews42likes1519CommentsSIMS IN BLOOM CHALLENGE - CH 1 - GEN 1
Meet DAISY BLOOM, our Generation 1 Founder. Challenge rules state that the founder has to have the Cheerful, Clumsy, and Loves outdoors traits, and that she has to max the wellness, fishing and gardening skills, complete the Freelance Botanist Aspiration, and have a job as a gardener. Likes the colors white and yellow. She can marry, but that sim must have the loves outdoors trait. My own additional rules are that Daisy must have a fully functional house with a basic bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area before she can move her potential spouse in. I also downloaded one of the Maxis pre-made spa builds in Newcrest. ~ ~ ~ Playing Rags to Riches in Spring (30 days). Moved Daisy onto a vacant lot - 2 Olde Mill Road in Henford-on-Bagley. She sold all the trees and rocks on her lot and got $648 simoleons. I then downloaded a 0 simoleon Abandoned Cottage (it's a debug house), and added the debug toilet/shower stall from the Jungle Adventure pack. I also placed a debug contemplative stool (rental) for meditation. (This actually works to increase wellness skill). Lot traits are Simple Living, Penny Pixies, Homey, Wild foxes and Off-the grid. With the funds she had from selling the rocks and trees on her lot, she bought a dumpster (her bed for now - lol), and an Always Has a Snack Bag. She also purchased 2 inground garden patches ($10 each). After this, she had $4 simoleons left. She then got a job in the gardener career. It was now time to make some simoleons to purchase some garden seeds. She found a frog, some upgrade parts, a MySims trophy, and did some fishing at the pond. The welcome wagon came and never placed the food on the ground. So whatever it was, they took it back with them. She then headed to Finchwick and did some fishing...during a thunderstorm...and egads, she was struck by lightning. Deciding that she had enough fishing, she headed to the Gnome's Arms Pub to see if there were any eligible bachelors who also loved the outdoors. She feasted on free chips and water and made several friends, but no-one with this trait. She napped on the couch in the Gnomes Arms Pub and so ended Day 1. ~ ~ ~ Notes: Sims in Bloom Challenge Rules - go HERE. Abandoned Cottage by Quakeers. I had done a preliminary run-through for this challenge and found it difficult to find sims with the loves outdoors trait. So, bearing that in mind, I randomly downloaded some sims from the gallery, and also used some of the pre-made Maxis sims for potential love interests. I moved them into an empty lot in Newcrest, so Daisy will randomly meet them. Here they are. From left to right - Barry Varner (by nengster65), Terence Thayer (by nengster65), Brenton Ferguson (by Gods Treasure), Edmund Leighton (by Rickchikchik), Tristen Palmer (Maxis pre-made), Rémy St. Feu (Maxis pre-made), Kurt Lumberjackson (Maxis pre-made), and Pierce Coombs (Maxis pre-made),136Views2likes18CommentsCas stuck on loading screen.
Since the new update and me downloading Lovestruck everytime I try to go into cas it gets stuck on the loading screen and I have to restart my PC each time, I have went through my mods folder deleting cc and mods to try and figure out what's affecting it, I need some help with what mod may be crashing it. I deleted more colums mod, Height sliders, mc command center, UI cheats, all my eyelashes, Tool mod, Better build buy, and any traits that could mess it up. anything that may interfere, but it just won't open cas no matter what I do, am I missing anything?9.5KViews91likes67CommentsPack Idea - Transportation
This has likely been thought out before but I’m going to share a bunch of ideas for a “transportation” pack. Options for transportation, taxi, bus, car, motorcycle, plane, boat. Depending on where you are going these would obviously change but some could have a smaller eco footprint or take longer. I imagine that if a sim took public transportation or had a long ride things would happen along the way (what things I am not sure) also if one transport option takes longer I don’t think you would wait any longer than normal it would just mean that when your sim arrives at the destination the time would have jumped to match the time they were supposed to spend traveling. There could be destinations that are only reachable by plane or boat or maybe even train. Destinations could be like mini worlds with only one or two lots that have monuments or tourist attractions. To visit those destinations you could purchase tickets online or show up at the airport, train station, or boat dock which would be 3 separate lots. At those lots there could be a ticket counter or self-service machine where your sim could see the destination options and purchase a ticket. Cars and motorcycles, I think cars should be base game but could be customized further in this pack. I’m not sure how customization would work, maybe in build mode there is a car option where you can choose a base model and color and then modify or add things like bumper stickers/decals, spoilers, etc. Motorcycles could be the same or just preset options. For some lot and map ideas I think the world could be split by modes of transport. A dock/pier/harbor/port area for the boat dock, maybe a seafood market. A small valley for the train station, maybe a train museum or something or train car diner. Some open plains for the airport, maybe a hotel or rental property. There could also be a downtown with a gas station or something. There’s a lot of room for new jobs and careers here but i’ll just mention some that I think would be fun or could be developed more. Pilots and flight attendants, Sailor/boat captain, train conductor, some sort of engineer could be added as well. In CAS there could be some new traits and aspirations. Sims could want to be a “world traveler” they want to visit as many places as possible, they enjoy any form of travel and get excited when visiting new places - even just a new lot. Traits could be along the lines of fearless or sims could have a fear of certain modes of transport like planes or boats. There could also be “frugal traveler” or “lavish traveler” where sims could want to spend the least money possible on transport and accommodation or they could only fly first class and stay at expensive rentals. That’s all for now on this idea :)63Views2likes5Commentsrelationships nerfed and bugged manage households
i don't know if anyone here has the same problem as I have, but for some reason, ever since the new update got out, whenever I play my saved games, when I talk to a sim and try to build a relationship IT DOES NOT show the effects (both positive and negative); it only shows an empty bar and for some reason, despite me not using any romantic interactions, also has an empty romantic relationship bar. and im not sure if it's because of a mod that i downloaded thru Curse Forge but whatever it is, this bug is starting to annoy me. how do I even deal with this?! Update as of August 16: The Manage household section is (almost) completely broken despite it functioning unusually well. Is no one gonna fix it? Should I just uninstall and reinstall the game completely?! (p.s the pic i uploaded is a random townie lol)41Views0likes2CommentsHotel Resorts expansion pack
I want to discuss your hopes and wishes for a Hotel expansion pack in Sims 4! Let‘s do a wishlist: Room service I want to be able to order food to my room using room service Functional elevators Hotels need to have elevators with actual animations of Simsgoing inside. Also elevators should be a new WooHoo spot like in Sims 2. Elevators could also be an entire object you can place like a two-story elevator or three-story elevator. Extra Large aquarium tanks I would love more luxurious hotel lobby items like a large aquarium (like Sims 2 Apartment Life) where we can display the fishes we have caught (like with smaller aquariums in Sims 4) What are your ideas for a hotel expansion pack? After a year finally bought today the EP for Horses. Well, I have to admit, I made the right decision to wait and purchase it later, and here are the reasons why: While Horses and Chestnut Ridge initially promised a captivating equestrian experience, it ultimately falls short of its potential. As someone who isn't deeply invested in horse culture, I purchased this expansion pack primarily for storytelling purposes. However, at its full price, the gameplay content simply doesn't justify the cost in my opinion, and that's why I waited. 😅 The Western theme, while perhaps appealing to some, didn't resonate with me. 🙃 I envisioned a more modern and elegant setting, perhaps inspired by the Hamptons or the world of equestrian competitions. A suburban landscape with vineyards would have created a more affluent and competitive atmosphere, aligning with a golf club (gameplay) feeling and the equestrian old-money aesthetic.😍 I guess it's too late for that now, but maybe for another pack it could still come, right? The world map itself, while visually appealing, felt somewhat generic and reminiscent of previous packs like Strangerville or Oasis Springs. The center reminds me of the ghost town movies where a bunch of hays is rolling and nobody is around. Spooky! 🤣For my taste, a greener, more picturesque environment would have better complemented the equestrian theme. While I appreciate the nectar-making skill and a few individual items, the overall aesthetic leans heavily toward the Western/Cowboy style. Not very much a versatile expansion pack in my eyes. The horses themselves are beautifully rendered, but the high-pitched sound they emit is a minor annoyance. Additionally, the build-buy items primarily cater to the Western theme, limiting their usefulness in other builds and in combination with other packs. After only 30 min. of gameplay, I'm already bored and glad I didn't purchase it at full price as I would have been highly disappointed. In conclusion, Chestnut Ridge had the potential to be a truly exceptional expansion pack. However, its missed opportunities in terms of setting, theme, and gameplay ultimately leave it feeling somewhat underwhelming. Just a couple of thoughts I wanted to express and see how others view this pack after a year. How do you guys view this pack after a year - are you still playing it actively? I think I won't be much in Chestnut Ridge, lol.155Views1like12CommentsSims 4 Ideas Feedback
I like playing the Sims 4 on my down time so much really feeling the updates excited to see even more. Few ideas I had for expansion packs Have an option to see the Sims drive to work and do different tasks at work with them. More job options run for mayor governor or president gain respect and votes by getting involved in the community. Retail work smoothie place micro blade nail tech construction worker plumber Different places to woohoo not just the bed or hot tub. Be able to put an ad online for renting a room. Get a roommate to help with the rent. But we are not responsible for their needs they aren't included on the dashboard. Make an option for a sim to be more independent, they will complain they feel controlled not able to do stuff on their own but almost pee on themselves because they can't take themselves to the bathroom. Have a pet sitter option Nannies and maids that actually help and stay the whole day not just a few minutes. More face makeup and hair options Ability to change height Amusement and water parks Option to celebrate holidays and traditional events like quinceanera sweet 16 Indian Asian traditions etc. Be able to go to the mall and shop Different weather rain storm hurricane tornado snow tsunami super hot and you can buy a or heater Pov option More friendly conversation and insult options Be able to go to the salon or barber shop Lastly an option to require a passcode to enter someone's game. I have roommates that are nosey I don't want them even seeing what I do on my Sims account when I'm gone I tell them barely anything. Hope my message is seen by EA Sims 4 creators
