One Month One World One Year Challenge 2026
Hello and welcome. :) This challenge was started by Karababy52 (see more here) and I would like to continue it on for another year if I can. Hopefully more people can join in. The more the merrier! The premise of this challenge is pretty simple. The goal is to post one in-game screenshot once a day during the 2026 year. So, kind of like a 365 project for your sims. You will start out with a teen sim and pick your starting world. I'll share a list of suggestions, but really you can pick whatever you want. Your sim will be a teen for 3 real world months, then age-up to Young Adult in April. They will spend 4 months as a Young Adult, then age-up to Adult in July. They will spend 4 more months as an Adult, then age-up to Elder in December. Each month your sim will move to a new world to explore. I've taken all the rules and guidelines here and copied them over from Karababy52's 2023 post and edited them slightly. Rules/Guidelines: One screenshot post per real life day in this thread with a short text summary. One world per real life month - See monthly schedule of worlds in spoiler below. Optional: May change schedule of worlds to reflect your preferences. Your challenge Sim MUST be a teen to officially begin this challenge and post in the thread. Exception: If you are starting the challenge late, you may begin in the current month at whatever age the challenge is at, or you may start as a teen to quickly finish your aspiration and school, then fast forward to the current age. (Example - if you start in April you may hurry through the teen stage and age up to YA, or just start as YA). After three real life months have passed, your Sim will age up to young adult for four months, adult for four months and finally, age up to an elder for December. Timeline posted in spoiler below. Optional: How long your Sim stays in each life stage, teen-elder, is at your own discretion. However, they are required to be at minimum a young adult to attend Uni in Britechester. *Note: If you own the High School Years EP, your Sims may be offered early graduation. If they take the offer, your teen is allowed to apply, enroll, and attend university or join full-time adult careers. Begin Rags to Riches style on an empty lot with 0 simoleons. Optional: Use the 20,000 starting simoleons to buy a starter home and furnish it how you want. Aging off. Optional: May use long lifespan. All unplayed residential worlds are off limits for any kind of travel. Exception: Newcrest may be designated a 'neutral' world to place venues for your Sim to use regardless of their current world residence. Optional: Newcrest may be used to replace a pack you don't own instead. Optional: Your sim may travel to other worlds not used in the challenge if they get an invitation. Sims may take a vacation to any of the designated vacations worlds. Rental lots in unplayed residential worlds are off limits. Aspirations released with a world must be fulfilled first. May choose a base game or other pack aspiration not in the challenge to complete afterward. Optional: Only one aspiration released with a world must be completed before choosing base game or other pack aspirations. Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade may be used in substitution for worlds listed in the challenge for packs you may not own. In that event, choose one or two base game or other packs aspirations not in the challenge to complete per world. Your Sim may marry and/or have children. Aging up children is at your own discretion. High School attendance is not required. May use cheats to fulfill daily/promotional task requirements. *Exception: Applicable only if you do not own the High School Years EP or if you do own it, but have elected not to have your Sim live in Copperdale and do the aspirations associated with the EP in your challenge. The beginning of each new month/world starts Rags to Riches style. Optional: Your Sim may keep everything they have accumulated and use their funds to buy or build a new house, or even move their house to their new world. If your challenge Sim dies, it's game over. Optional: You may bring them back to life and continue or use another existing Sim in the household to complete the challenge. Or, keep playing as a ghost! Occult states and Celebrity statuses must be removed when progressing to the next month/world. Optional: May keep acquired lifestates/statuses. *Note: Vampires can't get a suntan, which is a Beach Life aspiration task. If a new world is released with a new pack at any time during 2026, you have the option to swap the new world with another prior released world. Give yourself a break and don't stress over days missed due to internet outages, vacations/holidays, real life work/responsibilities or sickness. Extra story screenshots may be posted, but try to keep it to around 5-10 max. There's no limit for screenshots shared on your blog. May use satisfaction points to buy rewards. Exception: Money tree seeds are disallowed. Lottery tickets are disallowed for purchase. Beginning season, length of days and moon phases are your choice. May turn off or cheat away/change all Eco Lifestyle features applied to worlds. Exception: Must be turned on while living in Evergreen Harbor. May participate in all default Holidays, modify, delete and/or add your own. May include a link to your preferred Blog site with additional story text/screenshots, in addition to your Daily Post Pic/Text Summary. Mod friendly challenge! However, please use discretion when using them. Using a mod to fulfill an aspiration is disallowed. Exception: May be used to correct bugs and/or glitches. Worlds/Packs and Age-Up Timeline: *Note: Feel free to replace any pack you don't own with one of your choosing! It honestly feels like the more money you spend on The Sims 4 on console, the worse the game performs. I own every pack, and at this point the game is barely playable. University is completely broken on console — every time I try to move my Sim back home after finishing a term, the game gets stuck in an endless loop. You can’t split the household, you can’t progress, it just repeats over and over until you’re forced to restart the entire save. It’s incredibly frustrating to lose progress because of something that shouldn’t even be happening. Parenting is glitchy too — babies randomly glitch during animations, stretching, freezing, or snapping around. And Sims in general will just… stop. They’ll stand there doing nothing for ages, ignoring queued actions. Sometimes canceling and re‑adding the action helps, but not always. On top of that, the UI constantly bugs out, menus flicker or freeze, and the game crashes so often that I’ve had to reset everything multiple times. For a game I’ve invested so much money into, it’s honestly disappointing to feel like I can’t even play it properly. At this point, Maxis, the best long‑term solution might be to move the game onto a modern engine. The current one clearly can’t handle the weight of all the packs, especially on console. I know it would take time, but right now it’s becoming nearly impossible to enjoy the game at all. What happened in your game today?
Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today. I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here. So what's happened in your game today? Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!). I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works! Look forward to seeing what's happening in your games. X218KViews140likes21286CommentsSims 4 | Xbox Series X
I am posting in the hope that the development team at Maxis will see the issues that are rapidly increasing across The Sims 4, particularly on console, and provide clarity on what the future of the game looks like as more packs continue to release. I am a long‑time player who owns roughly 90% of all available packs on console, and several on PC as well. Over the past few months, the console experience has declined significantly. The following issues have become increasingly common: - Parenting and Infant‑Related Bugs — While Sims are holding an infant, they will sometimes autonomously proceed to work or perform actions as if they are not carrying the baby. This causes the Sim to become stuck in place, often with severe model distortion such as arms stretching behind their back. The Sim cannot continue the action or put the baby down, and must be manually reset to recover. - Model and Animation Glitches — Sims occasionally experience severe model distortion when performing certain interactions. Actions such as hugging, cuddling, or sitting together can cause limbs to twist, stretch, or snap into unnatural positions, including arms bending behind their backs. When using group interactions like “Take a Seat Together,” Sims often ignore the intended seating, spreading out across different tables or wandering around instead of sitting as a group. These animation and routing issues break immersion and disrupt normal gameplay flow. - University Household‑Separation Issues — When Sims attend university on campus, the Packing Up and Moving Out event can become stuck in a continuous loop, preventing the Sim from returning to their normal household. To my knowledge, the only reliable fix is to restart the save entirely, as the event never completes and the Sim cannot rejoin the household. - Autonomy Action‑Queue Looping — Sims sometimes freeze during autonomous behaviour and begin rapidly looping a single action. The action sound repeats continuously, the Sim remains stuck, and the same action is added to the queue repeatedly until it stretches off the screen. The loop cannot be broken without manually resetting the Sim, and it disrupts basic gameplay. - Random Crashes and Save‑File Loss — Sudden crashes that can corrupt or erase progress, making long‑term saves unreliable. - General Freezing and Performance Drops — Sims standing still, delayed interactions, and overall instability, which appear to worsen as more packs are installed. These issues have become especially noticeable since the May update, and the overall stability of the game has declined to the point where starting a new save feels risky, as progress may be lost at any time. I am sharing this out of genuine concern and hope. Many players would love to see The Sims 4 continue to thrive, but the current state of the game—particularly on console—makes it increasingly difficult to enjoy. I sincerely hope the team is able to address these problems and consider modernizing the underlying technology to better support the growing number of packs and features. Thank you to anyone at Maxis who takes the time to read this.Sims 4 On Tour (cars & bands)
Okay, let me take a (slightly) deeper dive into my “Sims 4 On Tour” expansion pack. Note I did not play any Sims game other than Sims Medieval and Sims 4, so let me start right off by saying I will not be comparing to previous games, and I don’t want to. This also isn’t going to be as comprehensive as some other proposals, just features I would like in said On Tour pack. I do focus a little more on Bands than Cars. Cars, Vans, and Buses: In an ideal world, these would be drivable, but with the size of the worlds in the game, that leans towards the impractical. In my head, cars and vans are interactive objects that can be repaired, “souped up” and repainted. They can play music, open the map, serve as a woohoo spot, and for bonus points, double as a sales table. Buses are more like the treehouse where you place down the basic body and then bunks, tables, bench seating, showers, toilets, sinks, mini fridges and microwaves can be slotted in, but otherwise are much like cars in terms of what you can do with them. Or just build items to create the bus as a house (similar to the Tent build options that came with Adventure Awaits) such as a specialized foundation and tire objects. Base game would just get cars and vans, possibly without the selling out of the trunk option. Bands: Expanded instruments – Drum kit, Standing Bass, Cello, Flute, Saxophone, and trumpet – at a minimum. Also kid sized versions of all of those plus acoustic guitars and kid sized microphones. The pack would also come with new keyboards, electric guitars and electric bass. Honestly, Animations is where I see most of the budget going. There would also be a Stage item – a large-ish rectangle (roughly on par with a medium dance floor) where you could slot in up to 5 instruments – including a microphone, and then click on that to have the band practice/perform together. If they could get it to work, mics and guitars could be doubled up so the sim can play both. You would, of course, be able to assign sims to particular instruments, or they would play as per their asignment in the Band (see below) New venue types – Garage (where you could buy, sell or pay to have your vehicle upgraded), and Arena/Music Venue, which would be focused around the Stage item, but could also work as a bar/lounge just without needing the TV or Radio. A Build a Band feature, kinda riffing off the small business mechanic, but you’re hiring people to play in the band – and you could hire a manager, or assign that role to the sim creating the band. Not a club per se, because this is more focused, and I think the asigned activities via Small Businesses/Custom Venues is a better fit. World: Honestly, I’d be okay with the pack not having a world since the idea is “on tour,” but the other option would be 3 implied to be disconnected Neighborhoods (not entirely unlike Ondarion) each inspired by a different genre of music (Blues, Rock, Hip-hop, for example – I’m actually not too fussy about which genres… except Country, because Sims 4 Horse Ranch exists.) Or just based on Chicago, 'cause I'm biased. So there’s my thoughts out into the wild. Sims Team, it’s all yours if you want it. :)33Views3likes1CommentAllow to edit/update Dynasties via any member
I really like Dynasties but every time I go to edit the Dynasty Details or spend the Perk Points, I realize... oops I am not on the head/leader, then I have toggle out, and select the head/leader, but what if I am not in the household with the head/leader oof... Edit: Really? No one with larger dynasties with the head/lead in another household, is fine having to re-add their head/lead to active household just to add more perks?222Views2likes2CommentsMore space for Kingdom Titles please!
Just as I am starting to set my kingdom titles and I am on Forgotten Hollow for Vampires and... Oh, come on! Queen of the Damned in reference to Anne Rice's vampires and I am 1 letter off!?!? edit: also no room for Princess of Darkness, but enough room for Prince of Darkness :(168Views8likes5CommentsFantasy/Sci-Fi/etc. Themed Packs
With EbN most of the supernatural Life States are in Sims 4. I would of course like more but a general satisfaction that if you have RoM/V/W/EbN you finally almost have the equivalent to Sims 3 Supernatural. Sims 3 Supernatural (my first Sims 3 pack) is what got me hooked on buying all Sims 3 packs and almost the entire Sims 3 store—so that is why I mention it. But because I am a fantasy/sci-fi based player, non-fantasy/sci-fi packs and packs that do not compliment fantasy/sci-fi type themes don't interest me much—so that means there are more packs I rather skip/not buy than buy (but I am also aware many players feel the opposite too). At least that is what I found in Sims 4, it is easier to skip packs in Sims 4 than Sims 3. Also funny enough, I had no interest in the Journey to Batuu (I mean I probably would like the CAS and Build by the rest of the pack I have zero interest), just the Star Wars universe doesn't really have a place in my Sim worlds (but I might buy it (on sale), if they add a Dystopian EP/GP). With this, new packs are really going to have to impress me to buy, otherwise I need hard convincing just to buy packs when they are on sale. So here are some idea for packs that might interest fantasy/sci-fi/themed game style players and may or may not interest non-fantasy/non-sci-fi/non-themed game style players. Steampunk, bring back inventing that is more tinkerer/eccentric based that can work for past, modern and (dystopian) future themed players. I loved using both Ambitions/WA and the steampunk store packs (including Midnight Hollow) to create a sort of industrial steampunk themed game. This could probably be a GP but you'd wow me if you did a EP. Medieval, also a fan of Dragon Valley and baby dragons. I think many players would love to be technology free (no cell phones/computers/TVs/etc.) especially for a non-ECO off the grid challenge. I'd suggest an EP, make it so you can play past/modern tech (or lack of tech). Underground and/or Underwater Biodome, my fav Sims 2 lot was a the Biodome, I still want to see that again revised. But for a fallout or future playstyle this would be so cool. Or even ocean exploration themed. Space Station/Spaceship, or some Future World. I loved Into the Future and Oasis landing! I miss nanites and the regular or dystopian versions of the future world. Whimsical, I loved the Looking Glass/Wonderland store items, I sort of used Midnight Hollow and utopian future to play an Alice in Wonderland theme game. I'd love a tea party table (I loved the store tea set table). This could be a GP or very least a SP (similar to how Paranormal works) but please not a Kit (it wouldn't be enough to work with). The idea of oversized items, from being shrunk (misses oversized flowers). How to make this work for non-fantasy themed players, theme park lots/capability for themed lots, to keep fantasy Sims in certain worlds/lots similar to werewolves staying in their world. Adventure Worlds, aka Al Simhara, Shang Simla and Champs Les Sims, JA is nice but I really loved these worlds too. This is themed but not fantasy/sci-fi so more people should be able to enjoy.658Views8likes15CommentsExpansion pack swap??
I purchased the island living expansion pack years ago and only played it a few times but i had created and saved my mermaid sims to the gallery and they are still there so i know I'm not just going crazy when i say that the pack itself is gone and has been replaced by a different pack. When i check my purchase history i cannot find the expansion pack transaction and the pack has been replaced with jungle adventure in the list of owned packs and i know i would never have purchased jungle adventure because i find that specific pack boring and useless. I play on Xbox so i know i didn't get the pack form some subscription or whatever the internet keeps suggesting happened to my pack, I reached out to EA directly and nothing has come of it. This upsets me every time i go to play on my Xbox because that is where i have most of my expansion packs and the island living pack happened to be one of my favorites. I just want to know if there is any way to fix this without having to beg EA to do something about it.
