One Month One World One Year Challenge 2026
Hello and welcome. :) This challenge was started by Karababy52 (see more here) and I would like to continue it on for another year if I can. Hopefully more people can join in. The more the merrier! The premise of this challenge is pretty simple. The goal is to post one in-game screenshot once a day during the 2026 year. So, kind of like a 365 project for your sims. You will start out with a teen sim and pick your starting world. I'll share a list of suggestions, but really you can pick whatever you want. Your sim will be a teen for 3 real world months, then age-up to Young Adult in April. They will spend 4 months as a Young Adult, then age-up to Adult in July. They will spend 4 more months as an Adult, then age-up to Elder in December. Each month your sim will move to a new world to explore. I've taken all the rules and guidelines here and copied them over from Karaybaby52's 2023 post and edited them slightly. Rules/Guidelines: One screenshot post per real life day in this thread with a short text summary. One world per real life month - See monthly schedule of worlds in spoiler below. Optional: May change schedule of worlds to reflect your preferences. Your challenge Sim MUST be a teen to officially begin this challenge and post in the thread. After three real life months have passed, your Sim will age up to young adult for four months, adult for four months and finally, age up to an elder for December. Timeline posted in spoiler below. Optional: How long your Sim stays in each life stage, teen-elder, is at your own discretion. However, they are required to be at minimum a young adult to attend Uni in Britechester. *Note: If you own the High School Years EP, your Sims may be offered early graduation. If they take the offer, your teen is allowed to apply, enroll, and attend university or join full-time adult careers. Begin Rags to Riches style on an empty lot with 0 simoleons. Optional: Use the 20,000 starting simoleons to buy a starter home and furnish it how you want. Aging off. Optional: May use long lifespan. All unplayed residential worlds are off limits for any kind of travel. Exception: Newcrest may be designated a 'neutral' world to place venues for your Sim to use regardless of their current world residence. Optional: Newcrest may be used to replace a pack you don't own instead. Optional: Your sim may travel to other worlds not used in the challenge if they get an invitation. Sims may take a vacation to any of the designated vacations worlds. Rental lots in unplayed residential worlds are off limits. Aspirations released with a world must be fulfilled first. May choose a base game or other pack aspiration not in the challenge to complete afterward. Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade may be used in substitution for worlds listed in the challenge for packs you may not own. In that event, choose one or two base game or other packs aspirations not in the challenge to complete per world. Your Sim may marry and/or have children. Aging up children is at your own discretion. High School attendance is not required. May use cheats to fulfill daily/promotional task requirements. *Exception: Applicable only if you do not own the High School Years EP or if you do own it, but have elected not to have your Sim live in Copperdale and do the aspirations associated with the EP in your challenge. The beginning of each new month/world must start Rags to Riches style. Optional: Your Sim may keep personal possessions, sell the rest and bulldoze the house. They may use simoleons from this sale and accumulated household funds to build or download a house from the Gallery. If your challenge Sim dies, it's game over. Optional: You may bring them back to life and continue or use another existing Sim in the household to complete the challenge. Occult states and Celebrity statuses must be removed when progressing to the next month/world. Optional: May keep acquired lifestates/statuses. *Note: Vampires can't get a suntan, which is a Beach Life aspiration task. If a new world is released with a new pack at any time during 2026, you have the option to swap the new world with another prior released world. Give yourself a break and don't stress over days missed due to internet outages, vacations/holidays, real life work/responsibilities or sickness. Extra story screenshots may be posted, but try to keep it to around 5-10 max. May use satisfaction points to buy rewards. Exception: Money tree seeds are disallowed. Lottery tickets are disallowed for purchase. Beginning season, length of days and moon phases are your choice. May turn off or cheat away/change all Eco Lifestyle features applied to worlds. Exception: Must be turned on while living in Evergreen Harbor. May participate in all default Holidays, modify, delete and/or add your own. May include a link to your preferred Blog site with additional story text/screenshots, in addition to your Daily Post Pic/Text Summary. Mod friendly challenge! However, please use discretion when using them. Using a mod to fulfill an aspiration is disallowed. Exception: May be used to correct bugs and/or glitches. Hi. I bought a digital key for a product The Sims 4: Lovestruck - Pre-Order Bonus (DLC) EA App (PC) Key but in the game it doesn't work... the order number is [removed] The digital content appears in the game but I can't interact with it. What should I do? For example I can't interact with the Herbert Heart Plushie , content in the pack I bought...Game Pack with Angels and Devils?
Ngl this wasn’t very thought out but I would LOVE to have some occult sim angel/devil children. There could be a measured scale similar to the reputation feature in Get Famous(?) that involves karma, sin, all that stuff. Different wing types and colours, same with horns and tails, some variety of course. I suppose Angels could traverse like fairies do, or just walk. Could have a career as Cupid (though might be similar to Matchmaker from Romance Consultant career in Lovestruck) or a “Devil on your shoulder” sorta thing, or those purgatory people who weigh souls and sin when a sim dies. Could have a world split in half with one side looking utopian (Inspired by the garden of Eden maybe) and the other a little less aesthetically appealing (rough and dangerous).7Views0likes0CommentsUnable to download the highschool years and horse ranch
I have chatted with advisors several times and nothing seems to work. every time they have me try to download the packs again an error messages that says I didn't pay pops up. However, I have paid. The advisor told me to post in here about it so I am.Basegame & DLC content always lacks complete sets for builders🥺
I appreciate the new base game update, but there's one persistent issue I find frustrating. 😒 Custom content creators consistently offer complete sets, and this should be the standard for all content provided by the Sims developers in the base game and every DLC pack. I'm tired of incomplete sets; they detract from the joy of building in the Sims. I'm sure many builders share this sentiment.🥺 The Creator Kits demonstrate that complete sets, even within a limited scope, are achievable. We've seen complete sofa sets and lights (for all wall heights). So why can't EA/Maxis make this the norm?🤔If EA/Maxis won't start doing it, may the new competitors on the market do understand our desire? Completing incomplete sets shouldn't fall to CC creators or the modding community. Additional content that complements existing sets is fine, but basic completeness should be a given.🫡 For example, I love the new doors and windows, but: Why aren't they available for all wall heights? (It's been far too long since City Living introduced anything new for the third wall height.) Why aren't the meshes aligned properly with their intended wall height? Why are there often missing color swatches, and why do they sometimes fail to match objects within the same set? (While this has improved over the years, it still occurs. These issues shouldn't take years to resolve.) I sincerely hope the Sims team will prioritize providing complete sets and become more consistent, especially when offering content in different styles. Consider these examples: Beds: Double, Single, Toddler, and Infant beds—all age stages should be represented. Kitchen Sets: Appliances, Tables, Chairs, Bars, and Dining tables (single, double, and long). Furniture Sets: Especially Sofa sets, including Armchairs, Loveseats, and Sofas. Curtains: Available for all wall heights. Lights: Available for all wall heights, but also matching wall and floor lights. Windows/Doors: Available for all wall heights. Adjusting a base mesh for different styles to create complete sets shouldn't be overly difficult with modern 3D software. This is a question of mindset and setting the norm. It wouldn't require that much extra effort but this would give us the freedom to design a certain style more cohesive. And it would for sure make customers happy.😉🤗😍 I know this is wishful thinking, but this issue genuinely bothers me. Whenever we get a new DLC I want to build something specific. I'm often missing crucial items. Because the game frequently falls short in this area, I use custom content to achieve cohesive and matching designs. Without CC, I probably wouldn't play. However, thanks to the new Creator Kits and some complete sofa sets, I've started building more in the Sims. But creator kits - and here we go again fall short in this category when we talk about sets with a specific style for the build/buy catalog. Imagine how much better it would be if complete sets were the standard across the board! Wouldn't that be fantastic?😍 I would be starstruck and more willing to pay the full price for a DLC. 😉 How do you feel about the sets we have so far that are incomplete? Especially if you compare it to the recent Creator Kits within their limitations and your knowledge of how CC Creators deliver more complete sets.84Views6likes5CommentsGallery: "Show Owned Packs" Option Showing Un-Owned Packs Too
I don't know if this bothers anyone else, but as someone who only has a few packs, I hate having to look through the gallery for things I can download. Whenever I try using the "show owned" packs filter function, all it does is bring up gallery items that use the packs I own, but also other packs I don't have. So, the builds will have at least 1 item from a pack I own, but also hundreds of items from packs that I don't own. So I'm forced to download almost everything as base game, which is frustrating because I want to use the items from the packs I've bought without having to personally edit every single build with the items that I own. I wish that button would just only show the builds that use the packs I own, and not any other packs used. Does this frustrate anyone else?27Views1like1CommentWhy is it all so bad the last 3 years
I’m honestly really disappointed right now because I can’t go to YouTube and see what I’m actually buying or paying for. I don’t have access to the creators I normally watch, like the builders and gameplay creators I trust, and without their content, I don’t feel confident purchasing this pack. With past packs, I could watch my usual creators, see full builds, see gameplay, and really understand what I was getting. That’s always been a huge part of how I decide whether a pack is worth it for me. Without that, I just don’t feel comfortable buying it. From what I have seen so far, the hairstyles and clothes aren’t really appealing to me, and I haven’t seen any real gameplay yet that makes me feel excited. So right now, it honestly doesn’t look like something I’d enjoy playing. When I first heard “legacy challenge,” I thought it might be something more structured and long-term, kind of like older Sims or console-style progression where you actually work toward bigger goals over time. But from what I’m hearing, it feels more like it might just be a small set of objectives and then that’s basically it. If that’s the case, I’m not very interested. The Sims is pretty much the only reason I even get on my laptop anymore, and if there’s nothing new that I’m excited to play, I probably won’t even log on. Waiting weeks for creators to finally be able to share their experiences also makes it harder for me to feel motivated to buy anything right now. I really hope that after release, more creators are allowed to post full gameplay and honest reviews like they always have, because that’s what actually helps players like me decide if a pack is worth our money. I don’t think they would hide problems or lie about their experiences, and I trust their opinions. If there’s more depth, more long-term gameplay, and more actual content than what it currently looks like, I’d genuinely like to hear about that. But based on what’s been shown so far, I don’t feel invested, and I don’t plan to buy it as of now. If you want to make something that really grabs attention, I’d honestly be more excited about a full console-style progression game like the old island adventure-type gameplay, where you actually unlock things and build toward something bigger. I would absolutely buy something like that22Views0likes0CommentsFED UP with SIMS 4 bugs
So on Jan 13 we received a great gift so they said and it would fix the big problem of photos turning black and painting for reference turning white. With great anticipation I checked it out. Here's the rub: Not only were the previously black photos and white paintings by reference unchanged, but those photos and paintings that were ok before the update suddenly were all black or white. All those years of game play history down the tube. I've had this game since it came out and those photos and paintings were a place where memories of early story telling were held. Additionally another old bug crept back in - the event squares in San Myshino were suddenly filled with detritus from previous events. A fix should not do the opposite of the problem. When updates to the game or new kits, expansions, etc are added they should not ruin the work that took place before the update or installation. Some bugs continue on for years and there are so many it is hard to keep track, I just don't use those features anymore, but this latest debacle is over the top. EA games and the team at SIMS 4 needs to hear from all of us all the time that we are not satisfied with this state of the game. (The problem with the black photos and white paintings had come up before and was fixed for me but I had to painstakingly go back to old games, save households and lots (or rooms in the case of apartments) to my gallery and rebuild the worlds. Sometimes old paintings and photos would come back. But friendships and relationships had to restart in the new games. When I spend more time troubleshooting (which should be in the job description of EA employees not customers), rebuilding worlds or lots, even finding old enough saves to start again from, than I do playing, then perhaps it is me who is crazy for continuing with this product. And to the EA SIMS staff, I do not, nor have I used any mods or custom content in the game. I sought to play only with Maxis content to lessen the possibility of bugs and corruption to the game. I think EA Games and the SIMS team owe us customers more than a verbal apology and they should start living up to their Values which they prominently displayed along with the Jan 13 update and I include below. They should also better playtest their updates and new creations, go back to the various add-ons that seem to have triggered these issues and correct them so they don't occur again. Thank GOD EA Games does not design airplanes. Creativity: The Sims is a canvas for imagination. yet that imagination is discouraged and destroyed by bugs We build tools that awaken the artist, architect, and storyteller in everyone. We celebrate ideas from the bold to the mundane and the wildly imaginative space in between that make our world shine. Play: The Sims thrives on play. yet we spend more time on repairs and troubleshooting, rebuilding and adjusting our play to account for repeated buts. That experience is not protected and has consequences. We embrace the surprises, the plot twists, the happy accidents and the small moments that snowball into epic stories. We protect experimentation without consequence, because some of the best stories come from turning mistakes into moments of magical delight. Choice: The Sims is defined by decisions. I seem not to have control of details including big ones if EA games keeps taking the results away We create systems that give players meaningful control over every detail, big or small. We empower players to steer lives and worlds in any direction they imagine. Inclusivity: The Sims is for everyone. The game is not for anyone who tries to build stories and preserve details along the way of those stories through pictures and paintings, carefully built lots, etc. We reflect the wide, colorful spectrum of identity and self-expression so every player feels seen and celebrated. We build features that let all players create the Sims they feel connected to, and explore their identities, without judgement. This work never ends; we continue learning, growing, and finding new ways to make every player feel seen. Community: The Sims is a community-driven game. individual creativity is thwarted when bugs destroy the work. We support the players who shape our worlds through their stories and creations, building a shared culture. Together, individual creativity becomes something shared and spectacular. That’s what makes The Sims community the best community in games. As we continue building the future of The Sims, our team's creative control, guided by our values of inclusivity, choice, creativity, community, and play, has not changed. And at its core, The Sims will always be life, your way. I doubt that many of us really feel Sims supports this based on the frequency and seriousness of the bugs that seem to be increasing exponentially.79Views1like4CommentsTimeline inconscistences Thebe family MWS/R&L
