Becoming a Fairy- WAY too simple! (AND EVERYTHING ELSE, TOO!)
Watching James Turner play Enchanted by Nature. Fairies are ridiculously simple to become and then ridiculously overpowered. To become a fairy, you do a handful of simple steps that take 40 in-game minutes and you're set for life. Then you no longer have a Hunger or Bladder need ever again, and can use a single low-price fairy house object to fill all your needs whenever you want. So in just a few real world minutes any Sim can become basically permanently happy and all-powerful forever. What's the point of even playing the game then? You can buy an apothecary item for 20 simoleons that fills ALL your motives, removes ALL your negative moodlets, and fixes your balance. Enchanting a gnome to garden for you makes ALL your plants bloom INSTANTLY, and the gnome drops rare and expensive seed packets that can give you death flowers with literally no effort. None of this is balanced, this is all just cheating- there's no gameplay here, what are you doing? Why is none of this even attempting to be a video game anymore, this is all just play-around-whatever nonsense that completely destroys the GAME part of the game! -You get a seedling, either by...asking someone you just met to hand you one, or buying it on the computer -You plant the seed -You get a text box popup before planting the seed warning you that you're gonna summon mother nature IMMEDIATELY by doing so -The seed is placed on the ground, and sprouts instantly -The seed disappears and does not have to grow or anything -You drink a potion -You go swim in a pond and become a fairy Are you for real? This is worse than "Gather Motes" to become a spellcaster. There's no time investment whatsoever, there's no difficulty, you don't have to find the seed or do any quests or anything to get it, you literally ask for it (Or buy it on the COMPUTER? REALLY?) and you're a fairy within 40 seconds. This pack comes with another questing system, so why isn't something like this tied to quests? This occult requires a seedling and a plant, so why don't you have to prove your worth by successfully growing the plant? You're telling me an evil man who lives in an industrial neighborhood and has no skills or abilities or friends whatsoever can just throw a seed he got off the computer into the dirt, instantly have it germinate, and get magic fairy powers from mother nature who doesn't sense anything off about this request? There's no gameplay to this whatsoever, there might as well just be a "become a fairy" button you get when you click on your SIm. I rarely call content in games "lazy" but this is LAZY.1.4KViews33likes27Commentsstop giving us new content and PLEASE fix your game.
I wanted to make a more in detail post (TLDR at the end for anyone who doesn't want to read my yap session!) on this forum because I feel like it needs to be talked about as more than a frustrated vent, but the sims 4 team needs to slow down on new content and focus on fixing their game. I understand the devs work really hard and no game is 100% bug free but this is genuinely starting to feel excessive and it's making the game really difficult to play. I've been playing the sims 4 since 2018 (which i know isn't the longer but I'm a younger simmer lol) and in all the time I've been playing this game, I don't think I've ever had this many bugs. I'd have maybe one bug for a couple of days but even then it'd be some minor thing that didn't effect my enjoyment of the game. However, recently, I've found myself using EA's gameplay support forum excessively. I'm come here almost every time I open my game because I'm always having some sort of issue with my game. My farmer and rancher sims crops disappear/turn invisible the second fall hits (and NO i don't mean an out of season crop dying, I mean my fully grown, in season fall and winter plants being invisible for the entire duration of the seasons) and while sure I can still use the gameplay mechanic, after a while (and many weeks) it's very visually frustrating to look at a large field of invisible plants that are still very much in season. Mind you visual issues like this have been bugged dating back to 4 years ago (though my specific issue seemingly only dates back to 5 months ago which is still a long time but a lot shorter of a time frame than four years ago) My sims can not getting married at wedding arches because it says that both engaged sims must be around (even if both of them are right in front of the arch), so I'm forced to do the manual engagement through the romance category which defeats the whole purpose of having wedding arches. With this issue also comes not being able to renew wedding vows because said archers are broken, This issue also seemingly dates back to a minimum of 5 months ago. Another issue I, and a lot of other simmers have, is disappearing terrain paint, and this issue has been happening for YEARS. The only way for me to somewhat circumnavigate is to build whatever im building first, save, leave to manage worlds, go back to the lot, do the paint, save again, leave again, and then load back in. That is absurd, again this has been happening for YEARS. Ever since EA introduced ads into the sims 4 (The opening screen ads and the splash ads) many people have found themselves not able to close or dismiss the ads, again another bug that has been around for a hot minute, that makes the game unplayable, that hasn't been fixed. Or what about the eyelid glitch that makes sims not able to close their eyes all the way? Again, I understand no game will be 100% bug free, but so many of the bugs have been around for months, sometimes even years, and they still aren't fixed, and it's truly ridiculous to see. It's incredibly frustrating to see SO many longstanding bugs be put under the tag "under investigation" when it honestly feel like nothing is being investigated. Or, at the very least, communicate with your community more. Even a vague "Hey guys, we hear your issues with the bugs and we're trying to fix them!" is more reassuring than radio silence or a moderator linking us to another forum for 8 months ago with a person having the same issue as you. If your game is so buggy it's putting people off and stopping you from attracting more people to it, maybe it's time to take a break from being a cash hungry corporation. Please, STOP PUTTING OUT NEW CONTENT AND FIX YOUR GAME. or at the very least shift your focus onto to fixing common bugs that make your game nearly unplayable. I love the sims, it is truly one of my favorite games of all time, but it's disappointing and frustrating to see 6 new expansion packs, 3 new game packs, 2 new stuff packs, and 12 new kits come out in one year while me and hundreds of other simmers have been begging you to fix a bug that first showed up in your game 2 years ago. So, EA, sims dev team, PLEASE FIX YOUR GAMES. TLDR: This game has so many bugs its nearly unplayable (or at the very least VERY frustrating to play) but ea keeps putting out new content instead of fixing month(s)/year(s) old issues and it's getting irritating.439Views26likes19CommentsNo plays showing in RTG
After the update when I press the R3 button to get new play selections it removes all the plays and I am unable to get them to show back up. Even after calling timeout and after getting a delay of game penalty they still don't show up. Need to fix this ASAP EA!Solved7.8KViews25likes42CommentsCan we get a pool slide?
I would love if we could get a pool slide for base game. The animation and style for one like the treehouse would be great, and perhaps simplify adding it since part of the animation may be able to be borrowed from that? Also... while I'm pool-dreaming, it would be very nice to have a diving board in base game. Likewise, the animations are already there for the diving boards added by 'Get Together'.301Views22likes10CommentsIt can't go on like this...
I hope that many players will see this and respond. I am thinking that enough is enough with bug fixes and 10 new ones coming. I'm tired of paying a lot of money and not being able to use features. I'm tired of hotfixes taking forever, others get it done. I'm tired of reading that bugs break games. i'm tired of getting the impression that publishers don't care about the players. players who also play other games are already making fun of it, as EA says - it's not a bug, it's supposed to be a feature. EA, you have enough money, please give maxis what it needs to fix bugs faster. You are dependent on us players, and if people stopped playing you wouldn't make any more money with the sims. At some point it's just enough.443Views21likes14CommentsPlease Make Mystical and Disruptive Compatible with Macabre
Ever since I heard about the new Mystical Trait—I was so excited to use with my favourite trait Macabre. I just think for a dark fairy or dark spellcaster it be an great complimentary combo. But you "conflicting traits" blocked them. To me the affinity of and to the occults and the affinity of death is ideal for the darker occults, and sims. Edit: just noticed Disruptive can't be Macabre either, like wut? Edit, edit: I decided to fix/tweak the tune files in the meantime. If you are interested (the mod is here) I saw no issues when initially testing, as it is just file tuning, but be aware as modding and CC may have adverse effects to your game and I am just an amateur modder. Edit, edit, edit: Looks like this is also reddit discussion worthy, with confusion and disappointment to why these aren't compatible. Edit, edit, edit, edit: So I decided to look up the internal files to see if there is conflicting issues internally. The only obvious conflicting traits are Mystical vs. Disruptive. Even the fact that Macabre Tarot reads and Mystical Aura reads as wishes should be argument for compatibility. MACABRE MYSTICAL DISRUPTIVE Moodlets + Ew. Currently, while Neighborhood Stories allows for some changes like having babies, adopting, retiring, and moving in or out etc. there are a few important features missing that would help families grow and evolve naturally. Here are some features I would love to see added: ▪️Marriage: Sims should be able to marry autonomously, even if the player is not controlling their household. This would allow families to continue expanding without the player’s direct involvement. ▪️Divorce: Sims should be able to autonomously divorce if their relationship status changes. This would allow for more realistic family dynamics. ▪️Moving Out & Creating New Households: Teens and young adults should have the option to leave their households and create their own households, even without player intervention. This would allow Sims to continue to live their own lives, meet new Sims, and start their own families. ▪️Joining Another Household: Sims should be able to join other households, either through marriage or through other life changes. This could give rise to new family combinations and interactions. These additions would help make Neighborhood Stories more dynamic and allow Sims to live fuller lives without the player constantly managing every household. Sims could form relationships, start families, and grow old without needing direct control, allowing for organic development of family trees and more immersive storytelling. By adding these options The Sims 4 could bring a more realistic experience of life for all Sims, even those who are not being directly played. I got tired from marrying my unplayed households... Also MC Command Center does that so I don't think this is hard to implement.800Views19likes7Comments[EBN] Enchanted by Nature is the first EP I've truly regretted purchasing.
Playing with a brand new Save in a brand new The Sims 4 folder. No mods. No CC. It's a beautiful World .... but: Frequent crashing is still an issue. I've never had my game crash so often. Fixed I can't repair my game because "We've paused the download because you don't own this title." Patched on July 29. So far this seems to be improved, but I haven't had a lot of play time. Time will tell. Under investigation The Balance and Luck systems overwhelms all other gameplay. This UI choice is still annoying. The method for monitoring Balance and Luck is buried in the Simology tab. Making it difficult to keep tabs on whilst playing. Especially when playing with multiple Sims. Patched on July 29. Can't really judge yet. This may be addressed by a patch. Balance and Luck change dramatically, suddenly and inexplicably. E.G. My Sim is fine. Needs are fine. Suddenly he's not caught a fish and his luck is bad? His Balance has plummeted? And now he has some ailment he can't afford to cure so he has to abandon all else to go off in search of a cure. And my Sim hasn't even made it to becoming a Fairy. Sheesh. Back to my regular game. Looking to relax so I open up the household of my nice elderly retired Sim. Of course she's cooking. Of course she catches on fire. Plum. Bad Luck. Out of Balance. Argh. Turned it all off. I am not enchanted.608Views18likes24Comments
