The New ui is HORRIBLE

I wouldn't say it's terrible, although the old main menu had a lot more polish.

The colors do me no good and the design feels a bit lacking. It's like a room not quite matching the house. I like that the entire household is displayed though.

That said, I never spent time on the opening screen, so this is not where I want to spend my energy.

You don't say.. Yeah, I agree completely. This wasn't anything that anybody has asked for. In addition to this, NONE of the updates to menus over the years have EVER involved a complete overhaul like this. It's disgusting and way too reminiscent of battle royale games or titles that revolve around microtransactions and subscription based models of playing. I don't appreciate the change at all and genuinely do not wish for it to be there. At the same time though, this is EA, so I wouldn't expect them to listen to community on topics like this. I think from now on it's either living with mods that can hopefully revert the atrocious change or not playing the game, because even if you don't spend a lot time on menus, this shouldn't have had come out.

Could they let us change the background. Maybe with presets or an option to upload our on images.

Although I'm generally not a fan of changes to the startscreen, I like that now are less visible ads and instead a big picture of my own Sims. BUT I hate the colors, especially that green splash on the floor. It looks somehow...I don't know, yucky, like slime. 

How about more natural, softer colors, that are lighter for the eyes, and a more beautiful background? I really don't understand why they always use these bold colors.

How about randomly selecting from screenshots from our game to use as a backdrop for the UI? Or create a special folder for us to place our favorite screenshots.

It's great when you own pictures greet you when you start up the game. Starfield use the same thing for their loading screens. It's really nice.

I could not agree more.  Loaded up The Sims 4 for the first time in several weeks only to be greeted by a main screen that, well it was so obnoxious looking, it just made me want to turn the game back off.  It actually made me not want to play the game and that's something cause Sims 4 is one of my favorite go to games.  I understand trying to keep interest up for a decade old game, but your fan base is set they're not going anywhere unless you make stupid, obnoxious and unnecessary changes that drive people away. 

I couldn't stand it anymore so I got a mod from SimMattically that has a bunch of nice backgrounds. It also lets you hide the news and marketing information with the press of key. I wish it showed my sims like the new UI does, but this is better than what we have now.

This feel more like we are celebrating the game instead celebrating my wallet.

I like the backgrounds, especially the nighttime one. Would have been nicer if they added something similar, some standard backgrounds to display our sims, maybe one for each world would have been nice and not as harsh looking as the blue holodeck they have now.
