More frequent bug fixes

Is it possible for there to be more frequent bug fixes? Some games and apps get daily fixes and tweaks why can’t The Sims 4 get the same treatment? The game is too broken as it is to enjoy. It seems every pack has something wrong with it. I really wish bug fixes were top priority. I would rather have daily bug fixes and reserve patch day updates for other game changes. I get that this would probably annoy the modding community but I feel it’s better to have a working foundation to enjoy mods in the first place. Theoretically I feel like it shouldn’t really affect modders because if the mod was written according to how the game SHOULD be functioning then things should operate smoothly. If we could get daily bug fixes I feel like we’d speed up the process of figuring out whether these “fixes” actually work or not. Some patch updates state the address certain bugs and the bugs still persist.

I don’t want more frequent bug fixes, I want EA to hire enough programmers and allocate programmers enough hours to fixing all the bugs all at once, ALL of them and finally fix this game fully so we don’t need updates every month for forever. This is ridiculous. Do they have one part time programmer just bug fixing things on their own free time or something?

They need like 50 experienced programmers devoting their expertise full time for a month to recode this game so it works. What are they even doing at EA? What’s going on that the game is so messed up and broken at new releases still?

No more bugs! No more releases until all the bugs are fixed!

This game is over 10 years old. How many updates have there been to fix bugs? Why is the game still broken? This is unacceptable.

For Rent is corrupting save files from its Residential Rentals, and the new expansion pack probably uses the same code as For Rent. WHY is a new expansion pack being released when it’s just going to be buggy?

I think THIS might be our saving grace.

I'll tell you why, The Sims 4 is still in development so bugs are inevitable especially with new releases. Things won't go as planned for EVERYONE who plays the sims. So having frequent bug fixes that address our concerns would be really helpful. Saving them for patch updates seems to cause a lot of bugs to get lost and many aren't actually addressed despite it being listed as Solved. So frequent bug fixes would take account for that rather than waiting for another patch update release in a couple months time from the release of the current patch apparently addressing fixes.

The Sims 4 especially while it's in development still will NEVER be completely bug free and that's naive to think so. It's not like The Sims is a complete story with predictable set of goals for you to execute and get over with. So things going wrong are bound to happen while players run the numerous combinations of the many things you can do in the game.

EA already stated that they hired a team to address the bugs. They aren't doing a tremendous job. We don't need 50+ people fixing this game that would just cause so many issues within the company....who's paying for all these people? I don't even know how that's realistic. Expecting the game to be fixed by a profession team who is SO good at their job that the game will never have bugs seems really unrealistic.

The game is over a decade old. For it to STILL be in development and still have bugs despite all these bug fixes is ridiculous. And if there isn't a Sims 5 and they are just going to keep putting out content then they need to do better.

I actually did look into it by reading the user agreement. Even returning games for a refund has to be done within 2-3 months. The Sims is different than other games. You never "beat" or finish the game.

  • I agree. The team will never get through all the bugs at this pace. The game has over 1,000 bugs according to the archive and the new bug tracker. They only fixed 35 last patch. Over 35 new bugs were introduced after the patch. At this rate, the game will only get worse. They use new packs and add the same systems.
