MEGATHREAD - Random Crashing/Freezing on PC
Randomly while playing, seemingly for no reason my game will just freeze. More often than not, it's a hard freeze that requires I hold down the power button on my machine to get out of it because alt+f4 etc are non interact-able. Even more curious, it seems to happen A LOT more often around the Block Party/Church area of the map than anywhere else. Anyways, this time, it finally gave me an error on screen and didn't freeze my entire system this time so MAYBE finally a developer can see this and get a closer answer to this problem! -Update 2/3 days later: (didn't want to make another duplicate post on this topic) Almost immediately right after posting this, I decided to move to the EA App version of skate. to see if it was just a Steam issue. And to my surprise, all of the above issues with freezing my system/crashing have stopped altogether! My CPU/Graphics usage are fairly low and my ram sits around 80% while playing and my machine isn't getting hot whatsoever (not anymore than average gaming temperature anyways). I don't know if it's a driver clashing with something after playing for awhile or what. All drivers/software are up to date. FINAL VERDICT: (about an hour or so after my last update above) I have officially confirmed that this bug is NOT exclusive to Steam. It finally happened to me again on the EA App version after about 16 hours played! Please consider looking into this cause I'm now hesitant to even play at this point with my friends cause having to hold the power button when things go south is such a bummer and overall not a good thing to keep doing to your PC in general. I understand this is early access and things like this can take time to fix but i hope this gets across to at least one person in charge so this can be addressed quickly 😄(and hopefully before season 1!) 🤞 Yet another edit: I found that skate. saves their own crash dumps to the AppData/Local directory in a folder called Skate. Their dates range from 09/22/2025 - 10/10/2025. They're not all there but a good chunk of them are and could be of use to a developer. However, your forum won't let me post them, even as a .zip which is says it accepts, but it doesn't work. (it's only 1MB). So if/when you guys see this, we can arrange something so i can get them over to you guys some how.
List of issues I’ve experienced.
First and foremost, this game is fun… I’ve had a great time, logged a decent 50 hours (somehow) and surprisingly bought a $60 CAD item for a free game, which I do not do very often. But after purchasing the upgrade I realized that I can’t even play the game.. because of the absurd amount of bugs and poor polishing of this seasons release, this is extremely embarrassing for a dev team with the history of the franchise standing behind it - Now for the list of issues and bugs, some of which are stopping me from even being able to play the only game I want to play: • Constant Crashing Upon loading in, I can tell the game is struggling to keep up with the streamed textures, leading to a 5-10 second window of slight play-doh like graphics. This is happening between both of my systems (Both are Ryzen, 4050 and 2070 super). I can close the menu, skate around a small area (~50m) before my game decides to do some funky pop in and out moves and then crash. I have literally tried to play 10-15 times and this has happened, every time, without fail. This also happens when I join a party, teleport to players, fast travel, etc. This has also happened upon just opening the game multiple times. • Repeated Ripscore Level Up Animations When unlocking any item, whether it be Shred Pass or Boxes, the game will show the expected unlock/congratulations animation, once the Ripscore XP counter goes away, it will proceed to play the level up animation, show an incorrect Ripscore amount and display the already unlocked item. • Removed Fun The launch glitch (hippie+manual) was an amazing “feature” which I can see that everyone loved. My buddies and I spent a great amount of time laughing insanely hard and how stupid the game could be, which was fantastic. Being able to fly around and have absolute freedom of launch a sack of virtual meat thousands of meters in the air was amazing. Being able to set markers mid air, and try to get some crazy lines with lots of speed was the best part of it all, obviously a bug, but to be patched and not mentioned in the patch notes because you guys knew you’d get backlash was pretty slimey. • Random Issues When rotating my character in the ShredPass menu, I hear constant click sounds as if I’m navigating the menu. When viewing the seasonal challenges, I am unable to scroll to see more challenges, requiring me to use my scroll wheel to navigate. Clipping issues with clothing and hair. The green beanie icon shows the head model with eyelashes. Cant navigate the Shred Pass “main menu” with my D-pad. Feels like Tix are a bit of a chore to earn, would like to see a slight boost in the amounts we get from challenges. Might some like Im the whining to whine and complain, but I’d like to play a game I’ve been waiting a VERY long time to play. Very big shame that everything is seeming to be rushed out and incomplete upon release, I say on behalf of myself and much of the community, we would be perfectly content to wait and see a flushed out product and/or update for the game. We’re just feeling like some guinea pigs. If anyone at EA/Full Circle sees this, you guys made it seem like you want to be the cool/hip dev team, so let us keep our fun bugs and goofy things we find (not progression exploits of course).
GAME IS UNPLAYABLE AFTER THE UPDATE
Im dealing with constant lagging and poor performance. This was not happening before the update. Now i cant even skate without the game playing at 5 frames per second. Its horrible! I bought the founders pack and i cant even play the game to do the stuff i bought? Get a grip EAProblem in mission in the market mile tour
There is a bug in tour 3: creative freedom (manual extension) at step 7/8 I tried for 1 hour straight doing everything correctly in the missions, it's conquering the spot (the total package), but even though I did everything correctly it didn't unlock the last objective. the goal is "all of the above in one sequence" I have done it multiple times doing everything correctly but nothing to do, please resolve this because I can't continue the tour.I would like to add another thing, thank you very much for putting skate. on ps4, but there are some difficulties in loading the textures on market mile (I don't know if it's the fault of the technical sheet of the console or for problems of optimizations) anyway it's a great game good job👍🏻.
(PC) Keyboard controls override
often times, more often then not, the keyboard controls override my gamepad controls. with the exception of actual skating of course. but for navigating menus and quick menus sometimes i still have to grab my mouse. and also the legends for the keyboard will show instead of my gamepad legend. and side note randomly, in the middle of skating the menu pops up with no corresponding button press to trigger it.
EA Javelin Anti-Cheat Error 94
I am not exaggerating when I say, I have tried EVERY fix for my game and the anti-cheat. EA PLEASE fix this asap I know for a fact I am not the only person with this issue. I have reinstalled the game, uninstalled and reinstalled the anticheat while also restarting my computer after for it to take effect, I have switched the game to a different drive, I have stopped any program such as Riot Vanguard/Razer Synapse and Windows Firewall that might interfere with the anticheat and nothing works. Sure, I may be able to skate for literally MAX 2 minutes before it crashes but when I validate files it says 3 files were missing and required but that does not fix it. I have heard that the update for the anticheat you did yesterday messed it all up and I need you to fix it because it is literally unplayable. At the very least, I am glad console people get to not deal with this disaster. Yes I have also updated my drivers. I will list my computer specs below in case someone asks.
