I'm on a new save, building a house for my sims. Everything works super great and smooth, but the problem is that when I go to save i get stuck on the saving screen infinitely. I can close the game fine by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and opening the task manager to close sims, but it's just really annoying and hard to make progress. I'm assuming the issue is that when I go to save, something isn't fully loaded in and it freezes the game. I've found that making a few changes in build mode, then waiting for my computer to sleep a little, then going back to save works better but it's still excruciatingly slow to get anything done. I have CC and mods, which to be honest I totally need to clean out (I just don't know how lol) but other people that I found online that are having the same problem, had no CC and no mods so I'm not sure that it's the issue. I only started having this problem after installing the Life or Death expansion pack. I know a lot of other people have been having bugs with the pack but the posts I read from my specific problem were from a couple of years ago. I'm not sure what to try next, please help if u can <32.5KViews0likes4CommentsPixel Glitch in Game - HELP!!
For some reason my sims 4 has developed a issue where if anything pops up in front of the game screen (i.e. a notification from my desktop, or even just the volume control when I turn the volume up or down) then that part of the screen will be all weird and glitchy with multicoloured pixels. I have no mods, no CC, I've cleaned my desktop, I've deleted the localthumbcache a million times. I've even uninstalled the game and reinstalled which took forever because I have every pack. I'm literally completely lost what to do!! Does anyone have any idea?!Very high CPU running Sims 4
Running the latest version of Sims 4, I'm seeing very high CPU, often 100%. It seems that the game is just stealing all the CPU on the PC (and it is a relatively new PC with an i5 12th gen processor, so not a low end machine). I'm not seeing crashes (even though "crashing" was the closest tag I could find for a performance issue), so maybe this is normal for the Sims and it just uses what CPU there is, but no other game comes close to this load. Is this normal? Thanks, Pete1.9KViews1like5CommentsDirectX 9 or 11
I got a new PC, and can play with D11. But now I find that numerous of my favorite CC wallpapers (and other CC) no longer works - it apprears with the ?-mark red/blue image. I suspect this has to do with DirectX, and although I started replacing the outdated CC, I now wonder if I should rather check the "use DirectX 9" option. What exactly is the difference between D9 and D11? I read that a multi core processor (?) works better with D11, but how essential is that for a game like TS4? It's still a less advanced game regarding graphics and req. specs, right? I think light/shadow might be affected, but how muchof that will I notice in TS4? I shuld add that I was happy enough with graphics on my old Win8.1 computer, so I'm not hunting marginal improvements affecting just one game feature etc. Hoping for some input before I choose between D9 and D11... :)Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsApplication Control Policy has blocked this file - error upon launching
Whenever I try to launch TS4 through either the EA App or Steam, I get this error. I have tried uninstalling and have then reinstalled, EA App, Steam and The Sims 4 itself. I have turned off my firewall and the error still persists. Does anyone have any ideas?Did EA stop adding new graphics cards to GraphicsCards.sgr?
Hi, I upgraded my graphics card to RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. When I launched Sims 4, I've got the message about unsupported graphics card. I said "OK, I guess this card is too new to be recognised by the game yet" and decided to add it. So, I located GraphicsCards.sgr, copied it to ConfigOverride folder in My Documents and opened it. What I've found inside was shocking. The latest Nvidia graphics card added was RTX 4080 and latest AMD card added was RX 6700 XT. RTX 4080, the latest card on this list, was released in November 2022, so, over two and a half year ago. And since then, no new card was added? Seriously EA? To make sure I don't have some older version of the file on my PC, I went through repairing the game files in EA App. But still, no change. Obviously, EA stopped adding new cards and I have to wonder why. Anyway, I added my card to the list and now everything works without issues. But still, EA should be adding new cards to the list with updates, as this is causing troubles for less tech savvy Simmers, who, after graphics card, or computer update will get this message and may even panic that there is something wrong with their new configuration. And that's not good.1.3KViews3likes6Comments
