Game Data Incomplete
So im somewhat new to playing the sims on mac and ive been playing vanilla. no cc or mods just expansion packs and add ons. for the past few months ive been playing the game no problem up until two nights ago. when i opened up the game the first red flag was that on the main menu the household that appeared telling me to resume the game had sims missing hair and clothing. i was confused because again i don’t play with any cc that could’ve caused the game to break. when i click to resume the game it shows that all the packs and expansion i own, weren’t installed. however on the ea app they were there. i’ve tried all the tips and tricks of repairing the game, uninstalling it, and removing the cache on the ea app but nothing has worked. when i attempt to play a save that requires some type of pack a popup appears which says: Game data incomplete not all game data could be loaded. the save game references and neighborhoods that have been uninstalled or otherwise are no longer available. if you continue playing you will encounter missing data and may have unexpected results. if you save the game there will be no way to recover the missing data. with that being said if anyone has anymore suggestions of what i can try i would love the help.CAS and camera settings super glitchy
I have been limiting my use of the sims 4 on my mac because CAS is unusable with how glitchy it is. I can't edit any of my sims features, it glitches to the extreme and I can't get it back to normal. I can't even rotate around them in CAS. The same thing happens when my sims try to take a picture, I have no control over the camera and it glitches to the extreme when I try to move it. I saw previous posts on the forum with responses claiming the issue was fixed in an August 2022 patch, but this device was purchased in December 2023 and has had the issue since it's purchase, playing with no mods and after repairing and redownloading the game. Does anyone have any solutions? CAS is one of the best and most advanced parts of the sims 4 and it definitely makes it less playable when it doesn't work. I have the 2023 MacBook Air with an M2 chip and macOS Sonoma 14.6.1485Views0likes18CommentsMouse Shift/Drift problem
When playing The Sims 4 on my Mac, I encounter a specific problem in CAS mode. When trying to rotate the character or edit details—basically, in situations that require mouse movement—the mouse starts drifting on its own, regardless of whether I use a mouse or the trackpad. For example, when I'm trying to edit the nose details, I right-click and drag the mouse to the left, but it either moves in the opposite direction or resists the movement. It sometimes happens in both directions, but it occurs more frequently when moving left. I'm not using any CC or mods, and my computer settings are as follows... My game has frozen when I tried to save all 3 times I played in the past week. It will start when I try to place an object or delete something and it does not work. Like the object wont place/ the object won't delete. Then, I'll try to save and it will be loading forever until I have to force quit. It will also load indefinitely when i do manage worlds without saving. I have repaired the game and restarted everything, it keeps happening. Thanks! PS I have never used mods, and just got 3 new packs.Game lags significantly after downloading royalty and legacy
After downloading the royalty and legacy pack, my game now lags significantly. Even with extra storage space freed up on my computer, it became almost unplayable if I was playing my legacy household that currently has 8 sims. Unless I have 1 sim with a very modestly furnished household, the game lags constantly even in 1x speed. I saw online other people were having this issue too, and this only started for me after the past 2 updates and downloading the new pack. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing the game and all packs, and turned the graphics quality down to medium. It also occasionally freezes for short periods of time and takes extra loading time now. Does anyone have any advice??Loading Screen Hanging
I have just installed Sims 4. I haven't gotten to the point of playing the game because the loading screen keeps getting stuck. This can happen after I exit CAS or Building Mode or anywhere where I am switching modes/screens. The game doesn't not respond, it just hangs. To get out of it, I have to force quit the game via the 'Apple > Force Quit' menu. Here are my specs: Operating System: Sequoia 15.6 Mac Model: MacBook Pro 14-Inch, Nov 2024 Processor/Chip: Apple M4 Max Memory: 36GB Storage Space: 420.9 GB available of 994.66 GB No antivirus or cleaning apps Thus far I have: 1. Repaired the game. 2. Renamed the game in 'Documents > Electronic Arts' to 'The Sims 4 Old' and restarted the game. 3. Uninstalled the game and the EA app and reinstalled. 4. Set the graphics quality for 'Sims', 'Objects', and 'Lighting' to 'Low' and set 'Edge Smoothing' to 'Off' in 'Game Options > Graphics' 5. Set the 'Display Type' in 'Game Options > Graphics' to 'Windowed'. 6. Set to 'Go Offline' in the EA app under 'Account > Go Offline'. 7. Checked the 'Vertical Sync' in 'Game Options > Graphics'. 8. Checked that my iCloud is not syncing with my 'Documents' folder. 9. Closed every app other than the game. 10. Granted permissions under 'System Settings > Privacy and Security' for 'Sims 4' and 'EA App'. I edited the text file in EA Games > The Sims 4 > Contents > res > Camera.ini to set the value for ClickDragEnabled to true under '[advanced]'. However, I can't see how this would create the issues I'm experiencing. The repair function sets the file back to the original and the problem occurs whether the edited file is running or not. Other than that I have no mods, official game extensions/packs, or cc installed. This is a strictly vanilla brand new and never played install. When I first start a new save, I get the 'Unrecognized Video Card' error (see attached screenshot). After seeing the message, I exit and then restart. From research, though, I understand this shouldn't be causing the error. If anyone has any suggestions on what else I could try, I would be grateful to hear it. According to the requirements for the game, my machine is well within them, but maybe it is just unplayable on my machine/setup.Game Randomly Shuts Down
When I am playing The Sims 4, my game randomly just shiuts down with no warning. This happens 2 or 3 times a day. I do not have any mods or custom content installed. And if I have not saved in a few minutes, I lose everything I was working on. For the many hundreds upon hundreds of dollars that I have spent on this game, I would think that I would be able to play feeely, without having to remember to save ever 60 seconds or risk losing my work.Newly downloaded Sims 4 crashes whole Mac once running
Hello, I recently re-downloaded the sims 4, however after 5 mins of it running the game freezes and crashes my whole laptop. I have the MacBook pro 2020, the system is completely up to date and prior to redownloading, there were no leftover Sims 4 files. I tried a few trouble shooting options (based on articles found here) like removing the cache file, moving the options.ini file out of the Sims 4 folder, moving the whole sims 4 folder out to create a new one - but to no avail. I also have no files in saved or mods / CC as it is newly downloaded. Please help! :)Bottom screen controls not appearing.
None of the controls at the bottom of the screen appear when I try to play a Sim; then when I try to exit and press the Manage Worlds button, the entire screen goes black. I tried repairing the game and uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app, but it keeps happening. I do not use mods at all, so I know that that is not the cause.109Views0likes2Comments
