Empires April Update Preview
Disclaimer: The following features are planned for the April update, but the final implementation will depend on the actual release build. Feature Enhancements Player Exchange Limits Extended Expanded limits to allow for more flexibility in player trading. Pool Draws & Guarantee Inheritance – Pool draws and guarantees will now carry over between different banners within the same season; however, guarantees will not carry over between seasons. Guild Mail Improvements Unimportant messages in guild emails will be moved to the System tab. Football Pitch Adjustments Added low-level football pitches in high-level areas. Exchange Token Limits Adjusted The limit for exchanging elite tokens for players has been increased to 100. City Sponsorship & Regional Championship Rewards Differentiated rewards for rank 4-10 to better incentivize weaker guilds. Trait Position Optimization The attribute boost from traits is always active for all positions. However, traits specifically designed for a certain position provide an additional advantage when a player is placed in that role. For example, a trait that enhances a Center Back (CB) will still increase attributes like pace and power for a Goalkeeper (GK), but it won’t provide the same strategic advantage when the GK plays in an outfield role in the engine. Player XP Exchange Clearer notifications when a player cannot inherit levels, specifying whether the restriction is due to training, sponsorship, or team assignment. Rally Time Options Expanded New options to set rally times at 2 minutes. Invitational Match Difficulty Optimization Adjustments to balance difficulty and improve player experience. The friendly matches in the Invitational Match system will also be easier, allowing players to gain experience from them for team 2 and team 3. GVG Injury Timer Adjustment All severe injuries in GVG battles will now have a standardized recovery time of 4 minutes. Participation Rules for LV1 City Sponsorship & Regional Championship Starting this season, LV1 City Sponsorship and Regional Championship participation will no longer require Reputation. This change aims to lower the entry barrier and encourage more guilds to engage in intense battles, proving their dominance on the field. Ongoing Rule Adjustments We are committed to continuously refining GVG rules based on player feedback and in-game data to ensure a fair and exciting experience for all participants. Dear EA Sports Team, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing as a dedicated fan of both sports and the innovative gaming experiences that EA Sports has consistently delivered over the years. As an avid volleyball enthusiast, I would like to respectfully request that your team reconsider developing a dedicated volleyball game. Volleyball is a sport celebrated worldwide for its fast-paced action, strategic depth, and incredible athleticism. Despite its rising popularity—especially with the Olympics, NCAA competitions, and professional leagues—there is currently a noticeable gap in the gaming market for a high-quality, realistic volleyball simulation. EA Sports has a proven track record of transforming sports into engaging and commercially successful video game franchises, and I believe volleyball could be the next great addition. I understand that profitability is a key consideration, but I believe a well-developed volleyball game could thrive if structured similarly to Madden. A deep career mode could allow players to start at the collegiate or amateur level and work their way up through drafts and professional leagues. A franchise mode could put players in control of a team, managing rosters, scouting talent, and making trades to build a championship-winning squad. Training and practice sessions could allow players to develop their skills, and online multiplayer could foster a competitive community and even an esports presence. With EA Sports’ expertise in gameplay realism, motion-captured animations, and strategic depth, a volleyball game could capture the intensity of the sport in a way that no developer has done before. Volleyball has a massive global following, particularly among younger demographics, making it an ideal candidate for a long-term, successful gaming franchise. EA Sports is known for pushing the boundaries of sports gaming, and I believe that by applying the same attention to detail and innovation as seen in Madden, a volleyball game could be a major success. Developer Q&A – S2 Community Feedback & Updates
We appreciate all the feedback from our players! Below is a summary of your questions and our responses regarding ongoing improvements, planned features, and future considerations. Gameplay & Mechanics Q: The training books are too hard to obtain. Can you increase the sources? A: While the sources remain the same, we are increasing the total amount of training books available. Q: Can we have the ability to edit or delete messages in the chat window? A: This is a low-priority task, but we will consider it for future updates. Q: Will there be a transfer system to buy and sell players? A: No plans for this feature at the moment. Q: Can we assign specific players for set-piece kicks (e.g., free kicks, penalties, corners)? A: The AI currently assigns the best player for the role. This feature is in the pipeline. Q: The Football Pitch mode in Invitational Tournaments is too difficult. Even after using all my stamina, I can only win one match. A: We will optimize the difficulty by implementing a dynamic matching system that adjusts based on your strongest players. This will take some time to develop. Q: Can player traits (features) also inherit levels, just like player level inheritance? A: We are considering this idea and will discuss it further. Q: Can we change the substats of skills so that players can choose the attributes they want? A: No plans for this feature at the moment. Account & Security Q: Some accounts were banned due to a bug with traits and player cards. Can you provide a clear explanation of the ban duration? A: We are confirming the unban time and will update affected players. Leagues & Competitions Q: Will we be able to see players from other leagues, such as America or Saudi Arabia? A: Yes! We plan to add them in September. Q: Can we get a reporting system to handle harassment and offensive messages? A: Yes! The reporting system will launch in March. Q: Guild War rewards are too low, only giving 81-rated players. Can you improve them? A: We will be increasing the rewards for Guild vs. Guild battles. Additionally, we will provide more plane tickets that can be used for scouting, giving players better opportunities to strengthen their teams. Stay tuned for the update! Q: Can silver card players be more useful? For example, events that only allow players from the same club. A: We are considering an authentic mod for this purpose. Q: Can duplicate player cards of the same player be used as upgrade materials? A: Currently under consideration. Player Progression & Balancing Q: The new season has drastically reduced resource availability, including training materials, cash, guild gifts, and contest shop items. This limits player growth. A: We are reviewing this and will increase reward values accordingly. Q: Will the player warehouse be expanded, for example, from 500 to 1000 slots? A: Yes, this is already planned and scheduled for implementation. Q: The guild shop update frequency changed from daily to weekly, reducing available purchase options. A: It’s back to daily refresh. Q: City Sponsorship rewards have decreased. Can they be restored? A: Rewards will be adjusted based on the operation cycle, we will increase it in the future. Coach & Strategy Features Q: Can coach buffs apply to all formations of the same type? (e.g., 4-3-3 Defensive and 4-3-3 Wing Play) A: Not planned for now. Q: Can we have more ways to earn trait experience? A: We are considering adding more ways through future events. Q: Can rare gifts have a "claim all" option? A: This is planned and will be scheduled for implementation. ICON Players & Chemistry System Q: Since ICON players have high chemistry bonuses, most players only use them, making other players less useful. Can you balance this? A: We will introduce League Chemistry and adjust chemistry bonuses to improve balance. UI & Quality of Life Improvements Q: The map marker numbers are confusing. Can we use region or country names instead? A: Due to political sensitivities, we will optimize this in a different way. Q: High-level areas cannot search for low-level buildings. Can this be improved? A: Yes! We plan to improve the search function. Q: Can we save and load stored formations when setting up a team? A: No plans for this feature at the moment. Q: Can we add a "one-click star upgrade" for silver and bronze cards instead of upgrading them one by one? A: Not planned at this time. Q: Can we add a player stat comparison feature? A: Yes! A new comparison feature is in development. Gacha & Card Pools Q: Can we bring back Season 1 card pools at half price? A: Not planned at this time. Q: Will there be regular updates to the red card (superstar) pool every season? A: Not planned at this time. Q: Can gacha banners show the odds for each featured player instead of just the overall rating percentage? A: Yes! This is planned for a future update. Guild & Social Features Q: Can guild officers sort members by login time, total online time, match points, or team power? A: Yes! This feature is planned for a future update. Q: Can guild messages be separated from system messages instead of being in the same inbox? A: Not planned at this time. Q: Can important guild messages be pinned so they don't get lost? A: Yes! This feature is in development. Gameplay Guides & Explanation Requests Q: Can we have an in-game guide explaining formation counterplay, tactics, club/national team chemistry, competition scoring, and defense mechanics? A: Yes! The community will be producing more guides in the future. Q: Can attacking another player’s main city consume stamina/action points, have a cooldown after losing, and transfer fans to the winner? A: This could lead to fan exploitation. We are exploring alternative gameplay mechanics. User Interface & System Improvements Q: Can "one-click stamina recovery" apply to all players in the team instead of calculating individually? A: The UI design is currently being optimized. Q: Can new messages in the communication system be pinned to the top? A: This is a low-priority task but is planned for future updates. A: Yes, this is already planned and scheduled for implementation. 2. More Ways to Obtain Training Books Q: Can we get more ways to obtain training books? A: While the sources remain the same, we are increasing the total amount of training books available. 3. Lack of Upgrade Resources Q: There aren’t enough resources for player and building upgrades. Will this be improved? A: Coach refresh resources will now require a new type of resource instead of cash, but the overall cash distribution will remain unchanged. 4. Stamina Shortage & Purchase Option Q: Will you restore the option to buy stamina? A: Stamina will be added to daily missions (+50 points). Stamina consumption adjustments are still under review. 5. Resetting Star-Upgraded Players Q: Can we reset star-upgraded players and reuse the returned materials? A: This is under internal discussion, and we are considering solutions to maintain the value of upgraded players. 6. Player Stat Adjustments – Pelé Q: Pelé’s stats seem unbalanced. Will there be adjustments or compensation? A: We are reviewing this internally. The plan is to reintroduce Pelé at a later stage with adjusted stats, but for players who already own him, the adjustments will be beneficial. 7. Adding More PvP Modes for Competitiveness Q: Can you add more PvP modes to enhance competitiveness? A: Right now, our focus is on game optimization. PvP elements are under consideration, and Season 2 will introduce a League mode that may address this. 8. Expanding Nationality & Player Variety Q: Will there be more players from different nationalities? A: Yes, this is planned for September. 9. Chemistry Boost Adjustment Q: Can chemistry bonuses increase from 0.5% to 1% per point? A: Chemistry adjustments are planned, but rather than simply increasing the percentage, we are exploring ways to make chemistry have a more dynamic and impactful influence on team power. A: This is not planned for the short term, but there may be changes in the future. 11. Wishlist Feature for Guaranteed Pools Q: Can we select a wishlisted card in the guaranteed pool? A: Not in the short term, but this is planned for the future. 12. Player Sorting Optimization Q: Can you improve player sorting? Every time I upgrade a player, the list resets. A: Yes, this issue is known and scheduled for improvement. 13. Removing Exchangeable Players from the Pool Q: Can players like Beckham and Laudrup be removed from the player pool since they are exchangeable? A: We will consider this change in future updates. 14. More Detailed Patch Notes Q: Can patch notes include details on new content, changes, and bug fixes? A: We will improve the level of detail in update announcements. 15. As Season 1 of EA SPORTS FC Empires wraps up, we are happy to announce that we are launching Season 2 on the 17th of February. With this update, we’re looking to introduce changes to the game features and events to enhance the strategic and dynamic gameplay experience. Please check more details about the update below: UPDATE TIME Feb 17 CONTENT SEASON RESET To ensure a balanced experience for all players, aspects of your progression will be reset when the game moves to the new season. RESET RULES Building Level > Reset Technology Level > Reset Guild > Guild and member count will be kept, while guild progression including guild investments and reputation points will be reset. Player Level > Reset Player Training Level > Reset Player Rank > Kept Trait > Kept Trait Level > Kept Resources > Diamonds kept, others reset Event Points > Reset Backpack Items > All Plane Tickets and Diamond Items will be kept. SEASON REWARDS If your Stadium has reached level 15 in Season 1, you will receive season rewards based on Guild Regional Championship winning records and European Battle Points Ranking. For more details, please check Season Rewards in the game. MAP-RELATED UPDATES SIMPLIFIED WORLD MAP In Season 2, the world map will be simplified, and the starting regions will be reduced to four from five with only one beginner area in each, building a more intense guild competition early in the season.
