Multiplayer Free-Roam
I am posting this as both a request to Ghost Games, and a warning to the potential buyers of NFS Payback. Multiplayer free roam is a core element of what made NFS 2015 fun, and what people enjoyed most. Being able to meet new people, race and check out eachothers extensively customized rides at car meets that would randomly occur, is what it was all about. The fact that this feature is apparently not in NFS Payback, has tainted the game, and people are refunding and leaving in droves. No one in their right mind asked or even thought the removal of such a core element of the game would be neglected or removed altogether. Especially considering Payback is built on the same engine as NFS 2015, it actually took more effort to remove the feature, than it would to just have kept it in. So I say to you, Ghost games; make an official announcement, confirming the existence of Multiplayer Free Roam in NFS Payback, or announcing that it will be in a patch on or very shortly after the release. Anything less than this, me and everyone I've convinced to finally get into NFS, are going to be refunding our copies and never looking back. And to potential customers, please refrain from purchasing the game until this issue is resolved. To those, like myself who had high hopes and preordered, hold Ghost games accountable for their actions and make your voices heard with your wallet. Unless this is resolved, refund and boycott Payback. The only way a company will listen, is when the money stops rolling in. I say this with the respect that the developer deserves. The rest of the game seems nice and like alot of effort has gone into it. It would be a shame to see it be dead on arrival due to poor decisions made by a few.73KViews204likes376Comments- 494KViews166likes113Comments
Nfs heat all progress lost
Here again, I had to postpone playing the game due to the fact my processor couldnt handle it 10 days ago. I replaced it and I ve been playing it the past few days. When I started the game few minutes ago I noticed my character and car were removed from the menu background and the yellow polestar took its place again. When I hit play, the game starts again from the first scene. Everything from the past few days is gone... I m getting tired of al the trouble around this game.....66KViews106likes615CommentsThe Ultimate NFS Payback Car Suggestions thread

Hold up . . . we are back! What have we been up to? Well, as you can imagine, we’re in the business of making games, and Need for Speed games at that. You can also probably guess where this is going, but for those who haven’t– a new Need for Speed game will be releasing later in 2019! This year is a bit of a special one for NFS, too, as we are turning 25 years. We’ve had almost 25 years going fast, and we can’t wait to kick-start our 26th with the next NFS game. And while we’ve had some great memories over those twenty-five years, we’re not here to look back and reminisce. We’ve got our eyes set firmly on the future. But even while focusing on the future – especially this year – we’ve also thought a lot about what NFS means to you, and perhaps more importantly what we hope it will mean as we move forward. Cars naturally top the list. You could say that the cars and customization of NFS are the beating heart of what we do. Without either of these, NFS fails to exist as we know it. These two elements play a pivotal role in the series and are two aspects that we consider to be foundational, meaning they aren’t going anywhere because NFS wouldn’t exist without them. But NFS is also the culmination of many different aspects, and there’s a special essence that appears when all these aspects come together at a very high quality, an essence that helps create that unique NFS feeling. You could say this essence is our DNA, and it’s exactly what we’re injecting straight into our next project. Tradition, and our above note about a new game later this year, dictates that this is the time when you’ll be eagerly hitting F5 on our Social Media channels, waiting for that first detailed sign of something new, for that first teaser to drop. But let’s hold fire on that for now. Because traditions are all well and good, but they can also be broken, and new ones forged. Just because we’ve done something one way for the last few years, doesn’t mean we should continue to do so. Are you going to hear more about the next NFS title? Yes. Is it being released this year? Yes. Will we be doing anything in June? No. It’s as simple as that, but we wanted to give you a heads up before you started asking “where are you?” Our goal is to deliver a truly memorable high-speed entry into the 25 years of NFS, rather than a series of promotional events. The game matters most – a sentiment we bet you share with us. With that, know that we’re here, we’re building an amazing game that we can’t wait to show off, and the next time we talk, we’ll be packing our bags and heading south for the full unveiling. We’ll see you then. – The NFS Team224KViews80likes271Commentsmini map and other UI missing after vol.7 update

Good Afternoon, My question /request is an easy one. Will this NFS Heat release allow you to customize your controller to suit the users preference? If not would you please please add this feature. I prefer to set up my own controller to suit me and not be told what buttons I have to use ie L2/R2. I have spoke with someone at Sony's own gaming studio and they have explained how this is very easy for a game developer to add this feature, so can you add this feature as people like me would have a greater enjoyment of your game if we were able to do this. Thanks37KViews67likes125CommentsNFS Heat button layout
Good Afternoon, First of all, good job on NFS Heat! I am really surprised by how good it turned out - no offense - and how close it comes to how I pictured an Underground 3. BUT: Didnt somebody test the game with manual transmission enabled? As soon as you leave the garage you should notice how awful it is to have "shift up" also be bound to same button as entering the garage... Even more frustrating is bribing the cops while downshifting or accidentally entering a race that was set up by another player by shifting up again. I saw quite a few people complaining and claiming it would be easy to implement custom controls or change the button layout - I dont know much about coding so I dont know if its in fact THAT easy, but I know that once my month of Origin Access is over I wont buy NFS Heat until this is fixed and Im surely not alone :/ I hope this is relevant enough for you guys to adress, the hype is real 🙂59KViews61likes81CommentsFeedback & Suggestions
I want to thank everyone for providing feedback and suggestions to make Need for Speed an even better game. To build on that, I have readied this sticky to create a centralized area for feedback and suggestions. If you have previously created a thread, it will have been merged here. Please note that while we are reading all your feedback and suggestions, we will be unable to provide a response, nor can I promise that what is posted here will make it into the game. If you however really feel that something is missing from the game, make sure to post it here! To avoid confusion about what is considered a suggestion or feedback, please see the examples below: What to post here: I would like to see the Super Fast Car LE284 in the game I wish I could make my car a certain color It would be awesome if we could have this song added to the game The above examples make it clear to us what players are missing from the game, or how their experience could be enriched. What not to post here: I keep getting disconnected from the game I did not get my achievement I am missing my pre-order content The above examples would be better suited in the technical forum were we can help you solve issues, or forward them to the studio for investigation.41KViews60likes1687Commentsunable to connect to Autolog or any EA Servers causing the game to freeze and crash.-PC

I pre-ordered this game and I've had nothing but issues since I've been playing it, I got myself up to rep level 10 it was an ungodly grind due to the fact that I had to keep restarting my game every time I got into a race it would crash,I ended up having to initialize my system losing all of my save data which I assumed would have been saved server-side . Error code (CE-34878-0)I a huge fan of need for speed but the fact that I can't even play the game properly is really irritating. Hopefully this can be resolved soon. (Edit: update 1.03 has been released fixing bugs, I will test out the update with things that I know freeze the game and hopefully it's been resolved.... Now all we need is Toyota to come back to NFS, Toyota's response was "be patient" 🤞)Solved34KViews57likes306CommentsNeed for Speed Heat - Update 1.5 - Update Notes
Hello! First and foremost - thank you for playing the game. We really appreciate the feedback we’re receiving from you, both the positive and the criticism, so we know where we can improve. We’ll be releasing update 1.5 for all platforms on Thursday, December 12. As usual, let us know what you think of the changes, and keep tearing up the roads of Palm City. The Need for Speed team Update Notes Quality of Life improvements Holiday Vanity Items It is the time of the year, the holiday season is approaching quickly. To help you decorate your cars in preparation for the festive time, we added some vanity items that you can purchase in the garage. You can pick up two horn sounds and two underglows, one each themed for Christmas for New Year’s, so you can drive around Palm City in seasonal style. Quick Routing You mentioned you wanted to spend less time reading the map and more time driving. Not only did we overhaul the look of the in-game phone app for better readability. We also implemented a quick routing option that you can access from the phone menu. This way, you can navigate to the nearest safe house or gas station quicker and more comfortable - and focus on shaking the cops. Speedwalls We all agree that racing is fun, but racing with friends is even better. To make it easier to see who clocked the fastest time, we’re bringing Speedwalls to Sprint Races, Circuit Races, Off-road Races and Drift Trials. Check who’s on top of the leaderboard for a track, and fine tune your ride to take their crown. Environment - Night race intros This was something you said you were missing a lot, as it sets the mood for the night races. As mentioned in the previous update notes for 1.4, we were always planning on bringing the visual effects back. So we did. Fancy lights, smoke, cars, the whole package. Polestar Hero Edition Probably one of the most common questions after the release of Need for Speed Heat was about the Polestar that’s on the game cover. “But… can I drive it again?” Joe was chased by Mercer and Shaw, the car was pushed off the bridge and it has been sitting on the bottom of the ocean since. Following this update, you can unlock the Polestar Hero Edition if you complete all the story missions: The main campaign as well as all driver stories. Just don’t drive it off a bridge again. UI When you exit or enter a garage, the “Enter Garage” prompt won’t suppress other HUD elements anymore. Which means you will see the map and speedometer at the same time. As you build your rep and explore the map, you unlock activities and collectibles. We tweaked the UI to make it clearer that these are locked until you reach a certain rep level. When you’re customizing the performance parts of your car, you’ll now find a label informing you which part is currently equipped to that car / engine. It will also show how many of that specific part you own, and have a clearer call out when you’re buying a duplicate part. Other Some of you mentioned that you’re being busted while casually driving, albeit slow - so we reduced the maximum speed that you can be busted at. We also made a small tweak to the cop spawn mechanics in online play. Your experience should not be affected, there might just be fewer cop cars in areas without players. Bugfixes Missions When you’re returning to the garage after the first night out, the reward from the “Make a Name” mission should now be banked correctly. You can no longer complete the daily challenge “Drift over 164 yd in a single drift” while Wayne is commandeering the vehicle during the “Let it Slide” mission. You should no longer be able to unlock the “Warp Speed” achievement during “The Exchange” cinematic. Added missing subtitles for Traditional Chinese during “The Exchange”. Lucas will no longer be floating during the intro of “Breaking the Law”. When you’re out on your first night in the game, you’ll find that the event text is now saying “Finish the event” and no longer “Finish 1st”. In the first night mission, Ana’s marker should now be pinned to the minimap, making her easier to find if you lose her. Events Some events are marked with an exclamation point, which means they have different levels you can switch between: The base level (lower car rating recommendation) and the challenge level (higher car rating recommendation). Some events had a lower reward for the challenge level than for the base level, which is corrected by this update. Event rewards should now reset to their original value after entering and exiting the garage. You should no longer be able to start a Crew Time Trial while entering the garage at the same time. When choosing “Retry” after finishing an event, the race outro should no longer play with a black screen and audio only. It should no longer be possible for two players who are playing online to start the same solo event at the same time. It resulted in a lot of traffic and it was unclear which AI racer belonged to which race. You should no longer be able to get stuck in an endless countdown loop when starting a drift event. During the “Winx” and “Crazy Cowboy” races, the AI drivers will now make a specific jump instead of taking a detour. You should no longer be able to drive your car into and become stuck in a barrier during the “Ceryneian Hind” drift trial. The “Marlin” circuit race will now award the correct amount of Bank. It was actually paying a little more than intended. The “Winx” High Heat event now will correctly award a volatile part. When you receive a volatile part from a high heat event and get busted before you enter a safehouse, you will now lose that part. UI Declining an event should no longer trigger the equipped active auxiliary item. During races, the distance between AI racers and the player that’s shown on the leaderboard should update more frequently. We clarified the daily challenge “Drive in oncoming traffic” by changing the objective text to “Stay in oncoming traffic”. This should underline that you have to stay in oncoming traffic continuously, until the challenge is completed. When the Racer Challenges menu shows “Congratulations, you completed racer challenges!”, you are now no longer able to select new Racer Challenges, as it was intended. The user ID of the player that last edited a crew information category is now displayed correctly in the menu. The description for the “Dual Turbo Charger” will no longer overlap other UI elements. The live tuning menu will now correctly display the time it takes the car to drive the ¼ mile in the correct measurement unit: seconds. Opening the phone menu during events should no longer cause it to overlap the race standings, but make them disappear for as long as the phone menu is open. The “route to event” option should now be available in the in-game phone app, even if you had set a route to that event before. The message “Text contains profanity, please change to continue” should no longer randomly pop up while in the garage. During night race intros, text that was previously cut off the screen when the display language was set to Arabic is now showing correctly. Race types should also no longer overlap race names during race intros. During drift trial intros, text that was previously overlapping when the display language was set to Polish is now showing correctly. There was a line of player subtitles missing, but we found it. Cars / Garage The player character’s feet should no longer be visible underneath the car when driving a Mercedes AMG A 45. The front bumper of the Nissan GT-R 2017 should no longer disappear when adding a splitter while a Pandem or Rocket Bunny front fender and bumper are installed. Stock brake discs should now be available for the Mustang starter car. The 394hp 3.8l flat 6 engine now has the proper sound when swapped into specific Porsche models. When the car is critically damaged, the hood of the Dodge Viper SRT should no longer block your view when using the bonnet camera. Fixed an issue where switching between specific car parts of the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS resulted in the camera showing a different scene. The paint menu UI will no longer overlap the menu when using certain screen aspect ratios. The unlock criteria for the Nissan 370Z Nismo in the Dealership will now correctly state “Unlocked after collecting all Street Arts”. The “Back” button should now work correctly in the “Community Wraps” section. Visual Added some decals that were available in the NFS Heat mobile app to the game. One of the decals was missing the option to change its color, which has now been added. Fixed some subtitles that were out of sync with the game audio. Reduced pop-in of textures in several instances. The helicopter that’s flying during the introduction race should no longer be shaking. There was a tree in the Palm City Raceway district that had no collision and you could drive straight through it. We moved it to a different spot. The dark boxes backing the subtitles now appear correctly for each line, some of them were a bit flashy before. Performance Improved several instances where you could encounter FPS drops during specific events and missions. Improved performance when playing on PCs that barely meet the minimum requirements. Fixed an issue that could cause a crash during the “Apollo 10” circuit race. Several fixes for instances where the game was crashing. Several fixes for instances where the game was hanging. The game should no longer hang when removing the PS4 controller via the PlayStation menu while getting busted. The game should no longer be stuttering during “Crew Level Up” notifications. We improved the loading process of some time trials, so the intro sequence is now shown before the event starts. Other You should now encounter more cops when circling Palm City Raceway at night. Several fixes for instances where item synchronisation would fail. When sharing a wrap and then losing the internet connection, the game could become stuck on a loading screen, which shouldn’t happen anymore. When reporting another player’s Custom Wrap or License Plate, you should no longer receive an “Unknown Error” message. On rare occasions, the game could get stuck when promoting a crew member to the recruiter role. Fixed! There was a rare chance that the game could get stuck after accepting a party invite while customizing a car with a large number of decals. This should no longer happen. A car parked in a specific location would spawn under the map and fly several meters in the air before falling down to the ground again. We moved it to a safer area. There’s an invisible spot on a bridge in Cape Castille you can crash into. We removed that. Although it was entertaining to park next to the bridge and see all the AI cars bump into it. Here are two very nice Texts, that speak out of my Soul.... All we want is the Online Freeroam Feature... Listen to the Feedback! Thanks! @EA_David I'd like to inform you that removing online free roam is detrimental to the game's life span, if you don't come out and officially address this problem many fans will leave the game, and for those who already bought it they'll eventually leave and play your competitor's games where they manage to provide what's missing in Payback. You claim to listen to fans (doesn't seem like it considering how customization in NFS actually regressed overtime, just look at UG2 onward, and you'll see how customization kept devolving yet you still stand by the "authentic & real" body parts and such, when you know for a fact that we just want variety in everything instead of the opposite. Again look at UG2, you might learn a thing or two) but that's besides the main point I'm trying to address. We've been rightfully complaining about Payback's lack of online free roam mode for a fair while now, and the fact that this issue came up before the game is even officially released will undoubtedly affect the game's sales, and no matter how high your numbers go up. just know that those numbers won't be as high as they could potentially be thanks to the brilliant decision of excluding what is known to be a staple in the open world racing game genre by now. Also what the hell is up with no cops in free roam, what's the point of having a cop system in the first place? Want tips on how to fix them? Easy! Take a look at 2005's NFS Most Wanted and you should learn something... New? I guess? It truly is sad that I'm referencing two NFS games that are well over 13 years old to improve the latest NFS game. NFS has definitely evolved in certain aspects, but in return severely regressed in others. Do yourselves a favor and hire some loyal NFS fans who are interested in a Game Design career to help you fix your games the right way. You've taken a year off without a NFS game to eventually deliver a complete game, not a game which gives fans the right to complain about it before it's even officially released, and rightfully so on the fans' side. You need to address this issue to the public regarding whether you intend to include an online free roam mode or not (because clearly you deliberately kept that piece of info away from fans during your big marketing campaign); before the official release date, because that's what makes sense from a business perspective AND as an answer to loyal fans who don't deserve such a slap to the face. SAVE your GAME. DON'T LET IT DIE. Sincerely yours A fan who grew up playing this franchise. Hey all, Figured it would be a nice change of pace to have a constructive thread about the game for once. I unlocked all the parts in the game and thought it would be a good idea to put together a list comparing all the different cars, incorporating all their costs and performance measures. Hopefully this picks up some interest and maybe even save some of you time on cars you wouldn't want. In my comparison: 1) Each car is taken to the Speedway circuit race event (4 laps around Speedway) and raced for 4 "perfect" times (4 races per car). By "perfect" times, I refer to full races of no collisions, no bumping of walls, and maintaining cornering speed above >180mph (some cars excepted from this), to measure the cleanest possible race time. Each car was limited to 3 uses of the 15lb nitrous tank per race (not using Nitrous Duration auxiliary perk) 2) Each car is fitted with what I deemed to be the best engine, all Ultimate+ engine components, Dual/Twin Turbo, Track Suspensions, Racing Tires, and Track Differentials. Each car had a 15lb nitrous tank. The only variation in components came from gearboxes, where some cars achieve a higher performance on a 6 or 7 speed transmission versus an 8 speed. 3) The Speedway is a fair comparison because it incorporates long stretches of straight road, as well as long curvatures for the U-turns, which fairly assesses maneuverability/handling. Below is a summary of results thus far. The list is organized by "Average Race Time", which is the average of each cars' four (4) race times. Right-click the image and "Open Image in New Tab" to see the full-size screenshot. The results show the most cost-effective cars, on a relative performance level. Below is each car's cost breakdown: Special Mentions: -Lotus Exige S: the handling on this car really surprised me; it is able to go around the turns very easily, without ever letting go of the gas, and is able to maintain >210mph on the turns. It is incredibly quick and nimble. -Ford F-150 Raptor: the truck really lacked in turning capability; it had to be slowed down to as low as 145mph to make the turns. Very slow acceleration and definitely not worth the $1m worth of investment. -Volkswagen Beetle: the car is hilariously quick, but has absolutely no turning capability and starts to slide really hard beyond 220mph on turns. Took me ages to run 4 good races. I was also thinking of incorporating my own personal rating of each car's handling, depending on how much interest this thread gets. Given that many cars significantly lack in handling and maneuverability at high speeds, I think this is a very important consideration. Let me know what you guys think!183KViews42likes71CommentsThe Multiplayer Of NFS 2015
Hello EA and Ghost Games. I wanted to discuss the multiplayer on need for speed. I think this game needs a multiplayer system that connects you with more player that want to race. Just putting us in a session with us roaming around the map is not clearly enough for a racing game. If you guys wanted to focus on people doing things in a crew you should had a game mode where you can do that with more than 8 people. I understand you guys want to focus on doing cool things with a crew but just putting us in a game with a random crew isn't going to cut it. The only way people will work in a crew together is if they had friends playing together. If your with random people in a crew people are just going focus on doing there own things. You guys should know the game racing scene is not as popular as it used to be back in the early 2000's so you guys should do everything in your power to make sure it grows so you can sell more copies of the game. The whole point of me saying this is that you guys need to add more multiplayer options. What i mean by this is the matching making. Have it just be a button away from getting into a event with other people. We can use games such as Call of duty as an example. You click what game mode you want to play and it searches for a match with people that have choose the same match or event and it just bring you in a match with other random people within 1 minute. I want play online with random people as well as with friends so having a party is also essential. That's how you meet people in a online seen. At the end of the day racing is another form of competition so a lot of people like to compete and dominate against other people. That's where the word race comes from! What is a racing game where you can compete against other people. Feeling like your best with your car feels so good. And testing your skills is fun too. Makes people want to become better at the game . One last thing im going to say is that having a crew is not a bad idea its just it can not stand on its own. Another great idea would be crews meeting up with other crews !!! Having lobbies up to 24 people would be so much fun. If you guys wanted to focus on doing things with a crew you should have that in the game . Free roam with a bunch of people with a crew already. Basically private free roams with a bunch of crews that people have formed. Like a clan in Call of Duty or just a party of people. In other words a groups of 3-8 people meeting up in a private session . Thanks for reading this if you did . If other customers like the idea I have going on then support me. Lets try to get this done !!Solved25KViews38likes39Comments
