Re: Can't play multiplayer. Everytime I enter the portal, it says it found a match

I'm having the same problem. It started for me yesterday when town hall opened. I can play multiplayer through the town hall portal fine, but I can't play any multiplayer games connected through the portal in my backyard base. It says found a match but then fails to connect. I mean I like the 'Rain of Flavors' fine but I'd like to be able to play other modes, it's making it impossible to complete quests.

    Yes my problem started on July 16 2019 after the town hall update. I've only been able to slip into about 3 or 4 games on mixed mode and if I  exit the lobby it won't let me back in the next time.  

  • Won’t let me play turf takeover since the town hall event opened but I can play the event please fix this as soon as you guys can 

  • Multiplayer portal won’t load a game it says finding a match then says found the best match then fails to connect to game session yet the only portal that works is the event and dr zombies and crazy Dave keep repeating the summer intro phrases 

  • I am having the same problem I can only seem to play the town hall mode.

  • I recently started playing plants vs zombies gw2 and I had no multiplayer issues. But recently when I went into the portal it said game found and then would say lost connection.

    I think it is because of the mystery portal

    Because is the only thing that works

  • It has been several days now and the multiplayer portal on pvz gw2 still isn't working. The only multiplayer modes that have been available to play are the town hall and co-op. Everytime I try to play multiplayer,  it says that it found a match,  but then says it failed to connect.Is there a plan to fix this or is this how it will be going forward. I'd like to know if multiplayer will be no longer available, if so I can abandon this game and let people know it's not worth playing or buying.

    Hey everyone,

    We're seeing reports on this and we need some information for the team. Can you reply back with the following:

    • Xbox Gamertag/PlayStation ID/Origin ID
    • Which region are you connecting from?
    • What is the specific error message you get?
    • Where do you exactly get this error message? (Which mode/event)
    • Does this still happen after rebooting your network? (unplug your modem/router for 5 minutes). Connection Troubleshooting
    • Does this still happen after you power cycle your console or Origin if you're on PC?

    • Firewinner100 (Xbox)
    • US
    • Failed to connect to the game session, please try again
    • Multiplayer -> Turf Takedown (and Team Vanquish)
    • After modem reboot: yes
    • After power cycle: yes

    Oddly enough it connected once and allowed for gameplay but then after exiting the game and coming back later to play again, it started failing once more.

    I've tried unplugging my game console and my router. I've also tried uninstalling and re-installing the game and the problem is still there. I've also tried the North America east and west servers and it still won't let me play multiplayer. When I enter the multiplayer portal, it says "found best match", then after a while of it trying to connect, I get a message saying that it "failed to connect" or "my connection timed out." 

  • I'm having the same issues as all these players commenting. Please fix this issue, I'd actually really like to play other game modes besides garden ops and the community event. Keep up the great work!

    Re yr query:

    1) XBox One Gamertag: Bookishflyer844

    2) Europe (Just for info. Portal in Backyard gives access to all regions with the exception of USEC and USWC. See item 3. Portal in Town Hall gives access to all Regions)

    3) Can't remember the exact message offhand, but in general terms, I get a message along the lines of "Found game", and after waiting a minute or two the message "You have been timed out"

    4) Apart from Town Hall (which works) have only tried Mixed Mode for all regions with the exception of Australia where I (as the Aussies don't seem to play anything else but Turf Takeover) only bothered to (successfully) gain access to their Turf Takeover mode.

    Turf take over, finds match, waits a while and then kicks you out.

    The town hall works, welcome mat

    • Found best match, failed to connect
    • Where do you exactly get this error message? Turf
    • I've rebooted, cleared cache, cold booted, rebooted router. 

    I also have "no news is good news" in my mailbox, this has been like this for a week.

    Thank you for the info and regarding the mailbox, we've sent that up to the team to investigate. I'm afraid we don't have any news to share around that right now as well, but rest assured they've been alerted. 👍
