Yep, I crashed every third game or so when I played with my friend the other day. Today I was playing alone and played like 12 games without crashing, then my friend wanted to play so I started up Discord and again it started crashing every third game or so.
I haven't confirmed this but I suggest people try to play without Discord to see if it helps, maybe disabling Discord overlay and hardware acceleration helps, not sure yet.

Doesn't make a difference for me if I have it open or not.
My game was crashing because of the in game overlays after disabling the origin and nvdia in game overlays my game worked fine.
- I tried disabling overlays too.. if it works it's only temporary.
Compiling list of "fixes" ive tried...
- Reinstall game
- Reinstall Origin
- Reinstall both.
- Repair game.
- Deleted EasyAntiCheat and repaired.
- Reinstall game to different drive HDD to SSD
- Borderless, Windowed, Full
- Delete Origin Cache
- Turn off V-Sync, lower memory to 6gb- then 4gb. (running RTX 2070 8GB)
- Set all to low settings
- DDU'ed Driver back to dark ages version 417 then 416.
- Turned off Discord
- Turned off Origin overlay
- Disable everything except the game
- Hardware acceleration
- -someone somewhere said do not use USB Soundcard for headphones- Used speaker instead.
- Run on administrator mode????
My result:
- Went from a smackfest of errors which includes "EasyAntiCheat's famed 30005 Cant create file .32" + "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" + "Random Crashes without Error Message"
- to just "Random Crashes without Error Messages"
Gave myself a pat on the back and gave up (still crashing every 2nd game- best was 3 games no crashes) FYI Ive also tried doing ALL OF THE ABOVE fixes, still Nada.
My specs?

While we're all scurrying away trying to seek for an IT Guru to share a hotfix:
Us: Help us plis, we crashin' daily.
EA:
Game crashes everytime your GPU gets stressed or pulls more power (don't know the proper wording), the game hasn't crashed for a whole day when I turned vsync on @ 75 Hz. The only thing is, Vsync introduces mouse input lag, so I am going to test Vsync off but limiting my fps to 75 with MSI afterburner.
What im guessing is if you have a good monitor (144Hz) and vsync on, it's still going to crash because 144fps is enough to stress your gpu and crash your game. Try limiting it to 75-80, I know it sucks but so far that's the only thing that worked for me really.

#318 - You guessed right.. Running 144Hz but kept my eye on GPU usage. Didnt even hit past 50% perhaps you mean GPU throttle? Gonna give it a try to drop the frames right now. Cheers
EDIT: Oh gosh it hertz my eyes.
Ye that is correct, if the GPU is stressed out it crashes. I've got a 144 Hz monitor, so setting vsync didnt help much. I am playing at 720p. The game look like real poo poo, but I've been able to play for about an hour without a crash.
Hopefully they fix the problem soon, because I want my game to look pretty!
Try gradually lowering your fps - 120, 100, 80 etc. until it's stable rather than playing on 720p
I seem to have solved the issue, I run a 1080ti and a 7600k, looking at the windows event log I was running into a virtual memory error.
All you need to do is increase your max page file size to a bigger number (I set my max to 20GB which is an absurd number but the game runs stable now)
It now works at max graphics, no v sync, 144hz 1440p, and full screen
- @FiveDollarCrayon dude, when I read your answer I actually felt "this is it!". Cause it feels like the game either write corrupt data to the ram or vram, but page file actually makes sense! I'm at work now, but I'll will try later tonight. God bless your soul if this is it! (If it is, I'll gladly love you long time)
I'm going to test it as well in a couple of hours. @FiveDollarCrayon pls report if it crashes
- When I figured it out I couldn't believe I didn't see it earlier, gpu is at 8GB/11GB VRAM, at 90% usage, cpu is barely hitting 70 and yet the thing was crashing. Thank * for windows error reporting actually telling me something for once.
- I only got a chance to test for 2 games before I had to go to work and I'm about to head to bed now. Hopefully it doesn't crash for you and it's the solution we all need.
ow do you improve that value? my computer knowledge sucks ;P
- Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Performance (Settings) > Advanced Tab > Page file change button > click custom size and I put min as 2048 and max as 20480(can probably do less as this is an absurd number) > press set
thank you very much 🙂
can you help to explain how to do this?
I've confirmed it was Discord for me. Disabling hardware acceleration did nothing but when I turned of Discord and played with my friend using the horrible in built voice chat in origin I haven't crashed in a long long time.
So it seems we're all experiencing the same issue but from different causes.Come back when you havent crashed for multiple days. The crashes are completely random, I though I found a fix because I didn't crash in a day and a bit. Then the crashes started again, even worse than usual.
- I do agree with you there, tried a few fixes that worked for a little while. I just wanted to throw it out there in case it was the big reason for the crashes as the error reporting backs it up.
