Re: Why am I unable to add an Xbox child account as a cross play friend

Hey @scooots1013,

Are you both connected to the same EA Account, or does your daughter have her own child account?

While you're on PC and she's playing on Xbox, if you're both on the same EA Account that can lead to issues like what you're describing.

There's a bit more information about the restrictions to child accounts here, as well as the steps to convert a child account to a teen account depending on her age.

In this case it'd be best to make sure you're each playing on unique EA Accounts to avoid this situation. If you contact support directly they'll be able to take a closer look at the account to help determine what steps you may need to take for that to happen.

  • @EA_Mako I'll try this Mako, but Xbox kind of forced the two accounts together when I linked mine. I created an EA account for her but struggling with connecting her xbox profile to that. I'll check out the links you mentioned. Just seems like it shouldnt be this hard. Thanks for responding.

    Definitely understandable!

Typically this should just be a matter of signing into a different EA Account when you log into the game on console the first time, but if both her and your Xbox profiles were forced onto the same EA Account during that linking process it could definitely complicate things further.

At that point it may be necessary to reach out to support so they can take a direct look here.
