@EJSIV Sadly the game mode just was not as popular as some wanted it to be. It was a mess of a game mode that created a very negative impact on the game.

You have to look at it from the population stand point. The Apex trackers are not 100% accurate but it did give indications on how popular the game mode truly was. When comparing BR held roughly 1m players in gold rank or above. To where you can count all arena ranked due to them moving out of the placement phase they only netted around 60 to 90k players each season. Which is very low compared to other game modes.

    @E9ine_AC And why would it matter if it’s not that popular ? That argument makes no sense, you still took something away from 60-90k people with no compensation

    I agree with Matzesignt. Do you think all the different game modes on fortnite are as popular as their br? No, but they still have a wide selection of permanent modes to choose from.

    If there is a reason for players to play the game, it's not a negative impact. I honestly don't know where that idea even comes from..I played both br and arenas at first, br wasn't suffering one bit.
    Arenas wasn't perfect in terms of match making but it was a hell of a lot better than br.

    60-90k is not a number I'd have just shrugged off and called unimportant. They literally bit themselves in the * when they removed it-apex has done nothing but get worse since it's been gone.
    The br mode has grown increasingly worse, I refuse to even play the game mode now, because the atrocious match making, cheaters, smurfs, leavers, and lack of team work.
    The new mix tape is just utter nonsense. All the issues of br rolled into a smaller, faster paced mode, one side always out weighing the other in terms of skill.

    They wanted apex to be a team work based game, Arenas has been the only mode where you would find players actually doing so. Not all the time, but way more than br.

    Other people didn't like it, or play it. So what. It should have been left in for those that wanted to. It needed improvements, not to be removed.

    @matzesingtI can't answer that honestly I can only speculate or take a wild guess. I personally found it to be a waste of staff resources that could be applied in other forms with ranked or br which are what the mass prefer to play. Don't think we will ever be told why it was removed for what reasons. Would be cool to know.

    @XxColdFangxX I found BR to be a little rough also but one must know everything was fine until arena players shifted over. This is not so much a br issue but a show of how arena players were and how they play. The normal br players didnt change it was arena players joining regular matches. IMO mind you just going off my personal experience with br.

    I doubt many arena players stuck around after it was removed, especially if they were arena explicit players.


    Br got worse because of the changes to ranked, which was changed before Arenas was removed and when it really all started going down hill.

    All the ranked sweats that got tired of the bs went to pubs, chasing away any casual players like myself because pubs became a worse sweat fest than it already was.

    Then Arenas was removed. Br got even worse. Every decison they have made has negatively impacted the game. 
    Before then I was already pretty much arena explicit, I keep popping in to hopefully find improvement but it's just not happening. There really isn't any reason for anyone who enjoyed Arenas to keep playing apex.

    @XxColdFangxXI'd wager a ton of them stayed around. Typically a br season would only see around 100 to 200k masters. At this time we have over 750 thousand masters. Sure ranked is easier to obtain that rank but those numbers came from some where compared to other seasons. Of course not all of them will be arena players but since arena has been removed there are a lot more br ranked players now than ever before.

    Ranked Arenas needed to go.

    Regular ones need to come back. It was honestly great practice for, 'Last squads in the last rings' scenarios training, and I frankly preferred it cause you always got some action.

    @Kyldenar Yea the ranked arena is what i feel drove a lot of people away from arena in general. When I did play arena i often found myself facing the same like 3 teams non stop all day or night.

    @E9ine_AC So if this “mass” where to stop playing BR because of the state it’s in you would remove it permanently, like arenas?

    @4847606 Yea I actually also don’t understand that argumentation…

    I mean they could’ve fixed it instead and not force people that mainly played arena quit the game.

    @matzesingt Since we are not told a lot of details around arena there is a chance like BR they did some changes to try and change things then another thing im sure they didnt just wake up one day and say arena needs to go there would have to be reasoning behind it. May have been unfixable in their eyes.

    Lol you say masters is easier to get and that there is more of them yet think it's due to an amount of Arena players that may have stayed in the game and has very little to do with the fact that people are ratting their way to the top tiers to get badges they otherwise couldn't get...right...

    @matzesingtI don't like it, and I'm not playing it. Someone clearly isn't paying attention.

    Which is that churn I refer to that everyone keeps stuffing cotton in their ears and screaming 'LA LA LA LA LA LA!" at instead of realizing that a churning casual population is not good for the long term health of the game, but you do you man.

    I wasn't a big fan of the ranked arena either, the system for it was too brutal. It really needed to be reworked.
    But the normal Arenas? I loved it so much. I hate that it's gone.
