Re: Was the Rookie Rank really necessary ?
@Renegade_Prime86 I’m still in favor of a new rank. Pre-season 13, I think there should have been another rank between gold and platinum since the game changes too drastically. Gold was just pubs where 1/2 to 3/4 of the lobby dies in ring 1 or 2 then plat suddenly transforms into this other game where people suddenly play more carefully and the ratting starts.
Overall, I still think rank is going in the right direction but Respawn’s changes was too drastic making rank a grind fest. The addition of a new rank, harder to get RP above 10+ placement, increased RP needed to rank up, and the increased entry costs resulted in a mode where you have to make Apex your day job. In my opinion, they just need to lower entry costs and give a bit more RP and it should be fine.
As for Rookie, no one should be there if you have played apex before season 11. It should be exclusively for REAL newbies and not a hive for smurfs to get 20 bomb badges.
