Re: Cross Progression Confirmed - Discussion

I’m confused on something about cross-progression coming to Apex Legends.

In the article about it, it says “…any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after October 26th, will not be eligible to be merged.”.

I just recently linked and created an Apex Legends account on my Steam profile after being told about cross-progression, but it was on October 27th and my progress was on Playstation (4). Will I not be able to merge my accounts? Or is this not going to affect me.

I have absolutely nothing on my Steam Apex Legends account, but I want my Playstation stuff on my PC (Steam) account.

    @rinne-tan

    The date specified is to have content merged. This means you wouldn't have any content merged from the Steam account (which doesn't sound like an issue), but it won't affect your ability to use Cross Progression. You'll be able to play on either PS4 or Steam and access the same content once Cross Progression is live for this account. 🙂

    @ItnPenguin

    Are your PC and Xbox accounts both connected to the same EA account? As long as you haven't unlinked them previously and this is the same EA account where your content and progress was earned, you'll just need to wait for the notification to appear in-game. This will show up in-game regardless of the platform, so it's not something that could be missed.

    Keep in mind this will be rolling out in waves until all accounts are migrated, so if you haven't seen the notification show up yet, just keep an eye out.

  • @EA_Mako is there a chance that there will be a roadmap as to the waves rolling out? I am hearing a lot of different information about the matter some are saying that the waves started today (Oct 31st) Some are saying Nov 1st some are saying Nov 2nd it is a little frustrating that we don't have the actual timeline or add least a speculatory timeline. We have all been waiting very long to have this feature come and now that its here we are in the dark as to when it will actually show up.

    Hi @FatRolledBlunt,

    We haven't announced any timeline or roadmap for this rollout, as that may change depending on any issues that arise and need to be addressed.

    Generally speaking this will take days or weeks to complete all waves as needed, not a matter of a few hours as I've seen some speculating.

  • @EA_Mako  Thank you for your reply.

    I wouldn't expect an issue such as merging millions of accounts to be accomplished within a few hours, I do thank you as you have given me an estimated expectation timeframe, that's all I really needed to hear from you guys that gives me some peace of mind on the situation.

    Again, thank you for your reply!

    Have a wonderful day

  • I would appreciate some clarification regarding duplicate heirlooms.  It would really suck to lose out on the time and money put into earning them.

    @Q_Kopia they have already stated that there will be no credit or refunds for existing items that exist in both accounts.

  • I love you. Thank you for answering my (and everyone else's) concerns.

  • Real question about 500 packs and heirloom, does packs count will be reset after merge? Read some comment on YouTube that’s says after merge count gonna be zero(0), so no heirloom, pls help

  • Hi @EA_Mako I am wondering, I have 2 EA Accounts, 1 for Xbox which already merged with stream account and Another on EA accounts for PSN. So if I want to use my PSN account as a primary account, all I have to do is unlink my xbox and stream account then link them with the psn account right?

    Best regards

    @XansForBreakfast @tl19101990

    Hey there, check out the thread below for more details on how Cross Progression will work if you have two separate EA accounts, or some of the prior responses in this thread. 🙂

    You will lose progress on one of them, as content/progress cannot be transferred between EA accounts.

    @XDbitionist

    This is not reset, you'll keep the progress from your primary account.

    Feel free to check the link below for the answer to this and many other questions we've seen about Cross Progression.

  • @EA_Mako no i mean like i know you cant merge two different ea accounts and that is fine i did not have much progress on steam anyways but i unlinked my steam from the second accounts to my ea account with my xbox tied to it after the 26th so i had everything reset which again i dont care about but so will i still be able to get cross progression from my xbox to steam account my ea account is 3 years old but i linked my steam on the 28th

    @XansForBreakfast

    As posted in the link above:

    If you're wanting to make use of Cross Progression on these accounts going forward, you will need to move one platform or the other to the same EA account.

    That won't bring content from your second EA account, but you would have access to your main EA account content on both platforms from that point forward.

  • @EA_Mako

    I never played Apex with my Xbox Account but I do have a old Playstation account (with Apex progress) linked to the same EA ID as my Xbox Account (both Accounts are linked to the same EA ID since years).

    Will I get my Playstation progress on my Xbox, even if I never played Apex before with my Xbox Account?

    Thanks for your time!

    Well that doesn't really support us in this situation at all...

    As a fan and avid player of the game, this goes directly against us and has to be in violation of some kind of consumer right.

    I paid on average 100s of dollars for those heirlooms/pred skins because cross progression wasn't promised... Just to have them tell me "tough luck"

    Maybe if I was pressed about all the duplicates the bs. NO I'm not I'm talking about heirlooms and predskins.

    This or decision by EA is totally unacceptable and I hope others in my scenario feel the same way.  I'll figure something out while theres time before EA forces my accounts to merge.  There's no way I'm about to lose those hundreds of dollars and multiple hours and not have anything for the time and money spent...

    Those isn't directed at you to the person I believe this is replying to your just a player like me this is more for those EA folks preparing the thread.

  • @Q_Kopia Exactly same situation really and have been told to 'suck it up' basically.

    Pretty poor way to treat customers. It will affect people who have put the most money into the game the most too.
  • @Q_Kopia @EA_Mako

    exactly this... since i sold my PS5 and switched to PC i was hoping for cross progressing for a long time.

    And now its finally here i cant.

    Spend loads of money on packs and skin in PS and i wish i got all my old skins back but in no way EA is flexible to get this done.

    have Mastery Weapon Progresses been Merged? including weapon challenges progresses?

    Why did I receive about 40 BP levels when I received Cross Progression? which is the reason?
