Command and Conquer Administrator Rights

Just purchased Command and Conquer Remastered June 5, 2022 at approx 8:30pm. I had to download the EA App and then download the game. When I go to launch the game I get a popup in the EA App saying game needs administrator privileges to run. I click ok, but then the C&C game main menu pops up as if it started and wants me to select which game to start (C&C, Red Alert, or Map Editor). I select C&C and it closes and a windows popup appears saying game needs administrator privileges to run.
I have given administrator rights to the EA App as well as the game itself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and app 3 separate times. Also turned off all my firewall and virus protection before downloading and attempting to run.

The EA App shows I have played the game for 2 minutes because each time I try to open the game and the menu comes up, that seems to count for game time.

I do not find any corrective actions or steps from EA.

I went to get a refund for the game, and when I follow the refund steps on the EA account, it has the window for me to select the game/order for refund, I click the select button (which then you should be able to click Next button) and nothing happens. So it won’t let me proceed with getting a refund.

This is incredibly disappointing. I am not a PC gamer, this is literally the only game I have ever downloaded on my computer. I’m unable to play the game. I’m unable to get a refund.

I saw videos for the game and thought it would be fun since I played it back in the day as a kid. Instead I’m out $20 and up at midnight dealing with this headache.

What a waste. EA you are terrible. I want my money back.

Hey @vivi19k try running the EA App and the game as administrator, you can do this by right-clicking on the exe of both and select run as administrator.

I tested the game here on my machi8ne and was able to play without issues.

ii have executed the game and the EA app as ADMIN and i have the same problem... Admin rigts required

@EA_Darko I have the same issue and I have tried to run this as an administrator but it doesn't seem to work there either. It is highly frustrating and disappointing. My situation is the same as @vivi19k in that I am not a natural PC gamer but was attracted to C&C due to the nostalgic. It's a shame that a huge company such as EA cannot get this right.

Hey @30ace8ccfeb624269c52be7359bb3071 I tested this just now and am able to launch and play the game without issue.

When this issue pops up it is generally system-related and something that needs to be troubleshot.

What steps have you taken to try and fix the issue?

Same issue here :
My Windows user account does NOT have Admin privileges (as it should always be the case if you care about your security).
I know the password of the Admin account.
When other games launch, the Windows User Account Control asks for the Admin account's password which I type, and then games launch.
However with Command and Conquer remaster, the EA app warns me it's going to request admin privileges, but when I hit OK, it fails to trigger the Window User Account Control window.
So It's not a Windows issue, it's the EA app that is not triggering the Windows User Account Control as it should for this game.
Running the EA app with or without admin privileges does not solve the issue. Editing the Command and Conquer's exe file properties to enable or disable "Run in administrator mode" does not solve the issue.
It was working fine with the "Origin app" but it's now impossible to use Origin (a message is forcing me to move on to the EA App).

I'm having the same issue with The Ultimate Collection
I used to be able to run the game through Origin, but since being forced to switch to the EA app, I haven't been able to start the game. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing both the EA app and the game. I've tried the repair option in EA app. I've also tried uninstalling CNCnet just to see if that helps, but nothing.
Running the EA app in administrator mode gives the following;
The "Launching" dialogue box
The EA app then asks for permissions, bear in mind I'm running the EA app in administrator mode. I click "ok".
The EA app then doesn't trigger the UAC to ask for my password, it does nothing and simply gives me a dialogue box which says "An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."
How do I go about troubleshooting this as a system fault? Where would you recommend I begin?

@Ranzeth Just an FYI, I've got Red Alert 2 and TibSun working, but to do so I have to play the game from the Administrator ACCOUNT, not from my standard user accound with the Admin password. Something isn't triggering the UAC, or there's a file in the game somewhere that isn't set to run as admin, maybe?

What .exes exactly does anyone else have set to "run as admin" to allow the game to start from a standard account? Is it all of them? I really would prefer not to use the admin account if at all possible.

Same problem Here, but the game is C&C Generals Zero Hour.
Previously with Origin App i had no problem to play, but since I switch to EA app, it's impossible to play with the game.

I've tried everything you have already done, and still not working.

It's frustrating and disappointing. What a shame.
