Re: FIFA 21 without commentary audio

Hi there, @henrimelo00

Do you happen to have 5.1 sound enabled in the audio settings, but no surround system to match? If so, try changing the audio to stereo.

    @henrimelo00

    Thanks for getting back to me. Check to see if your audio drivers are up to date. Also, what is the language you've chosen in the settings for the game and are you checking the EA Desktop settings?

  • @EA_Aljo My drivers are up to date. I choose English to install my game, in the settings and when I start my game. I'm based in Portugal, but, I'm not Portuguese, so, never selected their language.

    @henrimelo00

    Which settings are you selecting English in? Through EA Desktop or in FIFA 21?

    Is there any chance that you have any specific software/hardware for audio @henrimelo00?

    The thing is that I've seen this happen multiple times with FIFA. The commentary goes through the middle speaker when 5.1 is selected, but if you only have a device that supports stereo, then you won't hear the commentary.

    Also check if there's something like a 7.1/5.1/surround button on your headphones, make sure it is turned off, check the Windows Sound settings to see if they are set to stereo and check in which plug the stereo jack in plugged into. Try using the headphone jack on your motherboard.

  • @EA_AljoThe game is in English (downloaded in English), the EA Desktop App is in my native language (Portuguese-BR).

    I changed the language in the EA Desktop, the game said needed a update to start, I downloaded the update and then the app crashed after finishing the download, and now is endlessly on "Finalizing - wrapping up download..". I had to clear the cache to solve the finalizing issue and the problem is still there.

  • @EA_Jason No, I don't have. My monitor is connected directly to the motherboard jack, and I have 2 headphones, one that plugs directly on the motherboard and other that has a usb connection. Neither of the options work.

    Did you check the in-game sound settings to see if they were set to 5.1 or Stereo?

  • @EA_Aljo The Problem isn´t technical. It`s a problem in the download of the files. The Files from commentary missing. All the people are download from the ea desktop (xbox game pass) have same problem

    @aepreloaded That gives a little more insight, let me boot up FIFA via EA Desktop and see if I have the same issue.

    @aepreloaded I just launched FIFA 21 (originally installed through Origin) and I could hear the commentary without issues.

    I've now removed FIFA 21 and I'll re-download through EA Desktop.

    @aepreloaded I just reinstalled FIFA 21 on EA Desktop and I removed my settings folder and I could also hear commentary in English.

    Do you use any external programs for audio?

    Also make sure that you set the Game Settings > Audio to Stereo.

  • @EA_Jason No, the game are normal. Only commentators are missing. I downloaded the files from external source (folders in C:\Program Files\EA Games\FIFA 21\Data\Win32\superbundlelayout named fifa_commentarylaunch_spa_mx and fifa_commentaryfull_spa_mx). Then the commentators are to have been heard
    sorry for my english.
    So I can conclude that the files in those folders do not download well from ea desktop (but from origin are good)
  • @EA_Jason and @EA_Aljo I managed to solve my problem uninstalling the game, changing the EA Desktop to English and reinstalling the game with the same language of the EA Desktop App. Thanks for the patience and your support.

    @JorgePunk77 We're still investigating the Latin American Spanish missing.

    For now you can download the game in English and play with English commentary (or a different language if you'd like).

    @Gab0xCes Guys you must change your sample rate settings in sound options in windows. On 44.1 hz commentary dont work on 48khz working. I have audio card and i discovered this today 😉
