did you clear the cache files after getting rid of the CC

delete the cach files go to electronic arts/the sims 3/

  •CasPartCache.package

•compositorCache.package

•scriptCache.package

•simCompositorCache.package

•socialCache.package.package

it's safe to delete these files as a new ones will regenerate

None of the town sims even show up on the map to choose from in any of the worlds... :c There isn't a "Choose Household" button either. 
I'm attempting to fix the things that she suggested, and then I shall delete the cache files.

ikr been there done most of it so totally understand the frustration/upset etc ohh do you have mods too , they may be outdated ? move that folder out to the desktop

My game has been messing up SO much lately. I've been working on all the bugs in it for a week. :/ Worse things keep happening after I fix anything. 
I have zero mods. 

i feel for you had a couple  of "those" games too  the sims when directed to go home went off in a taxi in opposite directions ended up with different names to the ones they had , me face palm this game is corrupting somehow   then UI went missing  after several hours of starting the game switching households  the UI was there switching back no UI switched back and forth exit game restart game  i was finally able to save the family via edit town had to start a new game and delete the other one but i had my family back... the only thing is your save game might be corrupted
