yes, there are no words in the dictionary of cultured people to describe the frustration after receiving this message - "save corrupted"

When the file first became corrupted on new profile 22.01.2024, then I received this message several times a day while playing quick play solo. So far, the method I described above worked and I was able to bypass the problem. Until today. While playing the championship, I was unable to save my progress because a message about a corrupted file kept appearing. I went through the loading screen several times and it was the same every time. So I left the championship without saving, then I went through a few time trials. Luckily, by some miracle, my liveries weren't wiped clean, but I'm not going back to quick play mode until it's definitely fixed. Im play with EA app, PC Win10.

TIP:

1. I also saw that the autosave file does not work from January 21, i.e. it does not update anywhere and the last date is January 21 before the first file corruption message appears (see attach). Maybe the problem lies somewhere in the lack of synchronization between the autosave and save files

2. The first message about file corruption always appears after crossing several countries in the created championship. Then it appears regularly several times a day (when I used the above workaround method). Maybe the problem lies in the size of the championship. I always create 16 countries and 12 stages. There is too many info to save or something.

EA/Codemasters, do you even know about this? I wrote several times, but no one even replied that the problem was known. I am writing here with myself because I want to draw strong attention to this and document all my observations. I hope this makes it somewhat easier to find this error. So far it only appears in quick play solo mode and I haven't noticed it anywhere else

I described the details and my observations in this topic above. If you need additional information, then I'm happy to help. After the last file corruption, now the error appeared already on the second stage, when i continue my championship.

In the video I also showed how to do it so as not to lose your data (from 2:12). Just u have to do is go through any part of the game that has a loading screen. Then save working again. Otherwise when you exit the game after message about save corrupted, after restarting, you will have to create your profile again and you will lose your data

Hi I've just had the same on Series X. Was midway through my quick play championship when my entire save game became corrupted while loading in to the next stage. Had the same error code 'a925c8c5-a2e25eef-652b47e9' and had to create a new profile upon re-entering the game, with all my offline saved data lost ☹️

Edit: Interestingly, I was also on the 8th event of a long championship (15 events x 12 stages) when this occured, the same as the OP as seen in the video they uploaded 😳

So far, I have not noticed any problems with the operation of the application, sometimes I had to clear the cache because the repair of game files did not start

Yesterday, just to be sure, I reinstalled the game and the application and cleared all data from the WRC folders. as EA Blueberry recommended. Nothing has changed and the error still occurs. The application and the wrc game are located on the system drive C. I'm using a vanilla game, without any mods. Exactly the same issue noticed and reported in this topic MH2707 on Xbox, so i dont think that the problem lies in the my PC configuration or drivers.

The issue always looks the same. I do 16 event in quick play championship with 12 stages per event. When midway through the championship while loading the next stage or restart the stage, or change something in option, my save game becomes corrupted (usually happens when I get to the 6th or 7th country). Until then the game works correctly

It's bad to hear that until now Codemasters has not touched the issue at all and is still waiting for more data ☹️ Codemasters programmers don't  have the tools to decode the digits in the error message? Someone designed it this way, so the information about the error code should give some clues. I browse this forum every day and I looking forward to any positive response. I'm losing hope that this will ever be fixed. I will be happy to colaborate with team if additional information is needed, do some test or answer questions.

btw. examining only the save file may not be effective as this is the last state where the game was working properly (when information about a save corruption appears, the file cannot be saved). You need to load the save file and continue driving (usually several routes) until you receive a message about a corrupt save file.

I saw on the forum that Xbox users have the same problem. If anyone could send save file, that would be great. I also saw reports of save corruption on the Steam forum.

Someone from Codemasters team can also check this by setting the 16 country and 12 stages championships in the 97-11 group in Quick Play Solo mode (using  Citroen Xsara all the time) and investigate this issue. I have been researching it for months in my own way, looking for similarities or correlations, so far i didnt find any solution.

This should be fixed in the December patch, but I didn't find any information about it in the changelog. Maybe it wasn't fixed properly.

PS. 

for now, please send me my observations that I wrote above to the team. Maybe they'll be helpful. Save files are unusually designed and I have never encountered where the game automatically wrote my own save file instead of using autosave file. After the Junior WRC championship ended, my save file simply disappeared from the list.

Today i noticed another bug in quick play solo mode. I started championship and after few stages i saved the game as Progress1. When i back to continue progress, my save file "progress1" gone, but autosave make a save and i can continue my championship (see picture). Could someone from the team finally intervene and check what's going on in this mode? I have already raported so many bugs in this mode, but until now not one was fixed.

today i finished a championship NR4/R4 in quick play solo mode  (template 16 countries / 12 stages) without problem with save corrupted. I used Mitshubishi Lancer all the time.

In conclusion:

I finished championship without problem with the folowing car groups:

WRC

WRC Junior

NR4/R4

another car group like

WRC2

1997-2011

RALLY 4

GROUP A

....after a few countries ended with a corrupted save message.

What I have observed is that the groups where I have completed the championship consist of 3 or less cars in group. Where there are more of cars, the file became corrupt in about half of the championships. I also heard on another forum that reducing the number of countries and routes supposedly helps.

Once again, I am asking the team to intervene and investigate the problem. I've been sitting and testing this mode for half a year to find a solution, but nothing works.

So my bulider car never had a thumbnail for it's livery, not sure if normal.

After 1.8 update, my livery is gone. They're still there if I try to select or edit them, but car is blank/white.

If I try to create a new livery, on any car, game instantly crashes when trying to save. No crash logs or dumps saved anywhere when it happens either.

After 8 months of struggles, requests and searching for solutions, I finally completed the WRC 97 - 11 class championship (16 countries, 10 stages pro country) without any problems with save. Following the suggestion of one user, I reduced the number of routes from 12 to 10. And it helped. Unfortunately, the EA and CM teams did not even lift a finger to find the problem, I think that even after this information they will not find time to find and patch the problem.

My savegame folder disappeared.. I was in a clubs event, service area, took off VR googles, put them on again after couple minutes, game crashed, couldnt do anything, could see image in VR but was fixed to one side, so ALT+F4 and now have corrupted profile savegame message and missing savegame folder.

I tried creating new folder with profile and ghost folders inside, with backup cloud files downloaded from steam cloud same date and earlier, and still the error message appears 

Did a local files verification, too .. still cannot play as the message keeps showing..

So the issue might be elsewhere, not with the savegame profile

SOLVED - I chose the delete (profile, game settings, account.. cant recall exactly) prompt option, when asked at launch. Now game works, just had to assign controls again, set FFB and proflie name, language, etc all records are kept and graphic settings too but lost all saved car setups.
