Horse can't maintain fun and won't eat on it's own since pregnancy

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? consistently now
What is your current game version number?  Not sure how to find this but I'm completely updated
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except Journey to Batuu and a few kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I guess breed a horse.
What happens when the bug occurs? Since my horse has been pregnant (and gave birth) she has mostly refused to feed without direction or to play with the ball even with direction. She also can't seem to maintain a fun level. Literally, just got her fun up, and by the time my sim reached the house it was low again. Riding and training used to bring it up but doesn't anymore. It doesn't decrease from those things but it won't go up either. Socializing with other animals doesn't help either.
What do you expect to see? I expect her to eat and maintain fun with normal socializing, play, and exercise. As she did before.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No. Never have had any since redownloading the game earlier this year. Its been 100% vanilla play.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No. Only change was to breed in game.

So while I've actually been enjoying the Horse Ranch expansion and having fun with it. I decided to breed my two horses. Since the female became pregnant she has needed to be directed to eat and needs near constant socializing to keep fun up. I assumed at first it was a "pregnant horse" thing because there was also a weird amount of sleep. But she's had the foal for a few (sim) days now and she still isn't eating or playing on her own. I get her fun level up to exceptional (or whatever the highest is) by talking to her because she refuses to use the ball now, and by the time my sim gets into the house her fun is back to low.

None of this was an issue pre pregnancy. She ate on her own, played with the ball, exercise (training and riding) a couple hours a day kept her fun up pretty well. As did competing. None of that works now. Unless there's been an update since yesterday morning, it's all updated. I'm running a repair now to see if that helps. It's also only this specific horse. My other adult horse is fine, the foal needs to be directed to eat but I assume that's part of the game, but his fun stays up and he will even play with the ball or the sheep to get his own fun up.

I don't play any mods or CC. Never have since redownloading the game back in May after a break of a couple years. So this save has always been vanilla. I REALLY don't want to have to start over. I've been playing this family for 9 generations, with no cheats after the original generation to get started but they're at max money so I hate to lose this family so I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't mean starting over, or getting rid of the horses.

  • Never mind. Repairing didn’t do much but breeding the horse a second time seems to have fixed the issue.

  • This is happening in my game as well with a female horse, just started yesterday!

  • Yes mine started doing it today too! Male horse. Was fine until I bred him with another horse and then noticed his fun wasn’t going up. When I instructed horse to use the ball he doesn’t and the picture of the ball comes up in a little thought bubble. Everything else he does automatically.

I've noticed that you need to replace the horse ball occasionally because it seems to wear out after a while. Mine were not touching it. When I put a new one down everything was fine.
