Re: Ps4 columns

Hi there @8ERTH8 if you take a look at the descriptions on your columns, some but not all say Max Height Restricted (see Image 1 attached) in their descriptions on my game on Xbox Series X. You should be able to extend the rest though using the arrow that appears at the top when you click on it, the restricted ones will extend but only to Tall wall height.

So using the Design Calabria Hexagonal Column from the base game for example by clicking on it you should get the option to extend it (see images 2&3).

The following columns have max height restrictions (with all packs installed):

Fabled Floral (Cottage Living)

Ancient Column (Jungle Adventure)

Ornate Victorian Column (Vampires)

Architectural Spines (Vampires)

Incomplete Iconic (Romantic Garden)

Ridged Cornering (Strangerville)

Tests of Time (Snowy Escape)

Holder Upper Pillar (Get Together)

Fingerling Pillar (Get Together)

Fitzherbert Column (Base Game)

Buenaventura Column (Base Game)

Don Groggs Column (Island Living)

Grosvenor Column (Base Game)

Frilled Up Greco Roman Column (Get Famous)

These all need to be placed separately on each floor (you have to toggle on the grid and go up to the right floor to do this). They don't stretch higher than Tall wall height. The MOO cheat makes no difference to sizing or even placement with columns on console.

All the rest should be extendable. If not then pop a reply here and let us know which ones don't extend for you. So for example you should be able to extend the Compound Column from the Castle Estate Kit just to pick another column to test.

Hope this helps.

I checked my column today and it was not a height restricted column that was refusing to go to the second story, the Mega Column. But i found out why, i was trying to raise the height of the column when it was connected to a wall that wasn't a room to the upper room and for some odd reason the game put a restriction there?

They should really make columns more flexible on console, pc players can raise them from bottom floor rooms past fences and even to the height of the half gabled roof with move objects on and the bracket keys, this is big for the players that love customization and building. Also for continuity reasons.

  • @8ERTH8 While it would be nice to see something adjusted to make that possible with a console controller, I cannot recommend enough using a wireless mouse and keyboard to play on console. I also play on playstation and I haven’t used my controller in years. There’s some pretty affordable sets out there, so it’s definitely worth taking a look

I actually plugged in my keyboard to see if it would work, when i hit the brackets nothing happened sadly. Does it work for you? Maybe i need to turn the controller off completely.

I found a work around after the other reply, Had to disconnect my controller to use the bracket keys to size the columns up past the limit.

For some reason when using the controller and keyboard it wouldn't work, you need a mouse and keyboard to use this feature.
