so as a photosensitive person i have a cry for help. would it be at all possible to have a "dark mode" option for us more sensitive simmers? from what i've learned, a lot of us are disabled like myself and play the sims almost 24/7, but i think we can all agree that sometimes the main menu screen can be quite dissorentating to someone with sensitivities to harsh bright lights. i would love to see the non-threatening blue color of the loading screen, also on the main menu screen? what are your thoughts? thank you for your time:3 -Sprinkles<3

@blackrosekyt I'm still using the same loading-screen mod that I had back in May 2020. I know many people prefer not to use mods (or can't use them with consoles), but unfortunately that seems to be the only alternative for now. I still have hopes that EA will include something like this in the future. Mine looks something like this:I can't post a link on here, but you can find it on Mod The Sims. It's the Custom Color Loading Screen by Ahinana. It really saves my eyes at night.Good luck, I hope this helps.

@Sprinkles91xo I would also love to see an option for darker loading screens! If you are on PC or Mac and you are not opposed to using mods there are some really good ones at Mod The Sims. The one I use is a dark emerald green background that looks great with the green plumbob. This particular mod is only for the in-game loading screen & not the main menu, though there might be other mods that change that screen as well. I too hope EA will consider something like this in the future because many players prefer not to use mods and console players do not even have the option.

@Sprinkles91xoI think this is a good idea Sprinkles, even though I don't have a problem with this myself, uh, but I do know some people who have diabetes and get photosensitive to bright lights or headache sufferers, although in reality headaches or migraine chronic issues probably should limit usage, or not do it while in those modes. But there are times where I think, aside from turning my brightness down, which blocks screen view, other mode choices might be possible. It took years to get a dark mode on youtube and I can't recall if facebook has a dark option but I always felt it needed one badly (in fact I wanted a rework of that whole UI to be honest). But back to Sims topic...I mean I think the screen options are fine, but maybe there is a bit too much white for my tastes, even looking at the forums here, makes me wish I could have a color or dark option, or beige, believe it or not biege is maybe one of the better colors for eyes neutrality, most people can see beige, at least I think, and most people aren't color blind to it either. Good topic though,thanks for your idea.

@blackrosekyt astigmatism and being partially albino for me! my eyes are a clear crystal blue all the way back, im very blind lol. and i get frequent migraines and they are all because of bright lights. i literally have memorized most of my menu screen with my eyes closed at this point, or have learned to turn my brightness all the way down before i enter the game in order to get in game past the loading screens/must do this every time i want to enter CAS where my CC bg is darker. i tried mods for CAS but its not a full dark mode and the white tiles blind me. im hoping they do this eventually.

@sailornaru agrree'd! and yes, unfortunately bright flashing white light makes me instantly and severely nauseas. its mainly the white tiles in CAS, i cant flip too fast or i start to go blind. lol and i have CC bg for my CAS that lilsimsie taught me how to use, but the entire UI needs to go dark, with no white text or flashing lights imho..

@Sprinkles91xo TLDR: in addition, the flickering of the white tiles in CAS i would like to add, make me very nauseous..i would love to see the entire UI go dark. maybe not black, bc we all know how disorientating a black bg with white text can be. but certainly more calming darker shades that dont involve CC. i have seen a lot of suggestions about CC, which i have tried, but my biggest problem is not being able to switch through the CAS menu too fast, or else! i feel anything white needs to be re-vamped, so to speak. bc turning my brightness al the way down, just to get into the game is also quite harmful and shouldnt need to be done if there where an additional option in our settings. thank you to everyone who replied *hearts* you all have very wonderful answers and i hope they see this!
