@Zordith You have some great suggestions! Even if you can use the sketch pad with a painter, I believe it is mainly intended career-wise for use with the Style Influencer career, but I am going to check on this further.: http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/careers/styleinfluencer/

I do understand the use with the stylist career, but just like many things in the game it could be multi-purposed for both a painter and stylist.
Also, in all honesty what stylist wouldn't want their sim to autonomously make a few paintings on the side for some extra cash anyways.
