Are the laptops portable?

I’ve been trying to find this info online, on let’s plays, I can’t find it. Are the laptops from Sims 4 Strangerville portable (can sims put them in their inventory)? And if yes can sims use laptops while sitting on a couch or on the floor or is it only on a table with a chair?

Thanks!

@Jessycaz Great question! I tested further in my game... I cannot ask them to put the laptop into their inventory, & I have not seen them do so by their own 'will'... BUT... there does seem to be one beneficial difference from a regular computer. In live mode I was able to drag the laptop into the sim's personal inventory, whereas I could not do that with a desktop computer. I cannot prompt them to take the laptop out of their inventory, but, like when you have a camera or easel that you drag into their personal inventory, you are then able to drag it out of their inventory when you take them somewhere else, place it in their world, and prompt them to use it. (Make sure you drag it back into their inventory, though, or they will leave it there.)

  • I have never seen my sim do anything but use the laptop at the table/countertop/desk that I sat it on. And the table/desk/countertop requirements to accept placement of it seem to work the same as with a regular computer, in my experience. They will take a tablet with them, though, and use it at a couch, etc.

@Jessycaz I just went in my game to check if there was any option to put in inventory or anything other choices that I could have them do that were different or seemed portable, but I see nothing. Also I have never noticed them do anything like move the laptop.
