Re: [Megathread] Season 6 Feedback

This game has become unplayable. The introduction of the new map (which needs a lot of quality of life updates, ie the invisible wall ontop of the house near Lava Fissure), charge rifle, SBMM, and increased bullet size for snipers / shotguns has destroyed the balance the game had during previous seasons. Also the Ranked point system needs to be re-worked as it brick walls you once you reach your peak. I get its supposed to be hard to obtain higher ranks but I shouldn't be able to breeze through bronze, silver, gold, in a week and get brick walled at platinum forever. Not sure if its the SBMM but I feel like I'm constantly getting dropped into lobbies with lower level players on my team. If I'm dropping in a platinum lobby why am I getting paired with people of lower rank (gold or silver) and facing platinum opponents? Doesn't seem to make sense and the whole game has lost its charm from the previous seasons due to it. Also as stated earlier the map seems to have all sorts of issues with movement and invisible walls. Not to mention its too large of a map and due to its size required the guns to be rebalanced and its never been right since. After playing this game from Day 1, literally the morning it released, I have unfortunately deleted it. I might be back if they acknowledge their mistakes but I dont think they will. Maybe they'll pull a fortnite and say "alright we messed up time for a redux" but I doubt it. I feel like I'm watching the beginning of the end. As stated above this is basically fortnite season 7, they added a whole bunch of crap thats unnecessary and theres only a few select weapons that you can use and be competitive as they are overpowered. If I wanted to play fortnite I would still play fortnite which now that this game has jumped the shark I might go back to. The current state of the game sucks.

Given the amount of effort it takes to release a new patch every 3-4 months I don't think you understand what it's like being a developer. I commend what they're doing... it's pretty great.

Sure there will be hiccups and bugs, but if you don't like it find a new game. Complaining without providing alternatives is just weak.

If respawn wants to save Apex from complete death, she must take this new patch and permanently delete it.

All weapons are equally useful now, because what matters now is being the first to start shooting. Most of weapons are too easy to use: Havoc, Volt, R-301, Devotion, Spitfire, and this also contributes to decrease the TTK. The Devotion had to remain in the care package, it is a gun that ruin the game. The new armors are ridiculous. The mix of gun and armor changes, made the TTK completely horrible. Now you can't react or reposition yourself in the fight (a feature that has made fans addicted to this game). This things made this game more a "shoot first and win" and less a "use your skill and your brain and win the game".

@The_Moon_Rulz_1 I'm not usually one to judge too quickly, but I do agree with you a lot. I played a TON of apex season 1 - like constantly from the day it was released on till the end of season 1, many, many thousands of games. I then took a break as I didn't have much time to play for a while. A few days ago I remembered Apex and downloaded it again and dropped into a match with less than two days till the end of season 5.

After being away since season 1 ended, pretty much not having touched the game since I thought I'd need a long time to get back into it. The first match back I won with 8 kills myself, my squad had 24 total kills, and that held up, I was able to actually be useful to my team and hold my own, the game felt fun to play and I was enjoying myself a lot.

Season 6 rolled around and I didn't get 8 kills in an entire day of playing. I'm not enjoying myself in the slightest, I feel like a complete and utter burden to my team, and I'm not sure if I even want to bother playing. Which sucks because I like Rampart a lot!

I'm finding with the armour changes I'm getting instantly shredded by SMGs and assault rifles if I go in closer and if I stay further out snipers are two-hitting me. The Triple-take seems to be doing my entire shield and half my health every shot, the map is very open and huge so I'm getting shot from everywhere, I honestly can't even count the number of games now where I haven't gotten a shot off before I'm downed and then instantly killed. Several dozen at least, though.

Part of that is definitely that I used to primarily use the R301 or R99 as my primary, and the 301 is much rarer and the R99 is care-package-only now - so until I find an alternative I'm not as comfortable with any of the other weapons. Additionally, I'm very much unfamiliar with the World's End map still.

As I said, though, I haven't played the previous seasons much, so I'm not sure if them changing so much is normal, and maybe if I'd played all of Season 5 these changes might breathe new life into the game and make it more interesting, but for me, right now, these changes just make it confusing and uncomfortable. Whereas with Season 5 I was able to just slip right back into Apex, feeling comfortable and familiar, Season 6 has left me uncomfortable and feels unknown.
  • I think part of the issue was that most people were enjoying the game pretty well. Introducing new characters and map changes is cool, even weapon rotation but this time around they did a bit too much and people are frustrated. I don't know what the Devs mindsets are for this season nor will I pretend to but as consumers, when something has changed so drastically people will complain.

I think it's also unfair to tell people to find a new game just because they disagree with the most recent season's changes because some of them have been loyal for so long and maybe are more committed to the game than you are (idk how long you've been playing the game, just saying their sentiments and commitment might be greater). Additionally, there are people, myself included, who loved the game (seasons 1-6) and actually supported the game by buying stuff [I literally only get crafting shards because I have every skin] and telling them to just walk away is kind of unfair since they're the ones spending money.

I personally still believe in the game and am invested enough but will take a break until things get balanced out, playing Valorant til later.

  • I mean devs straight up said they wanted to lower the TTK and is why they reduced armor. So they accomplished what they wanted. I just don't see why they wanted that. I'm baffled at this horrible design choice that on it's own is awful but also works against other things they've made changes to balance (it gives 3rd partying even easier and harder to defend against, it indirectly buffs smaller hit box characters and especially Wraith because completely evading shots turns into even more of an advantage the less armor others have)

  • I like the changes on the map, somehow they fill it and I like the idea of holo-sprays 🙂 🙂  I'm just wondering if they'll add dance moves and stuff like that. It was a lot of fun after I updated it and realized that the R99 is now a legendary weapon and in its place is Volt which is stronger than R99 xD , despite all the professional streamers who drowned Twitter in tears - "WHY? WHY DEVOTION IS HERE AGAIN, WHY TURBOCHARGER IS HERЕ WHY? and similar posts, I liked that, devotion is my favorite gun 🙂 Newborn hackers are already like a religion here, drastic changes need to be made to the anti-cheat system but looks like is not in the foreground.

  • @UDMauler But effort should be well invested in things stopping the game from being unbalanced/boring/etc and as a day one player i can tell you since season2/season3 nothing felt thought through balancing weapons was and is a mess overpowering it in the first patch underpowering it in the second and with good luck ending up right as it was before in the third one. And SBMM oh lord now I'm playing regulary against diamond/master/former preds just getting destroyed, they dont hear the community and insult them + we have some issues persisting since season 1 this game sucks even for todays standarts. And the shame here is that respawn developed it, makers of the titanfall series i still cant believe it

Okay, I really do not know why everyone is getting so INCENSED over Season 6.

My big issue is that crafting takes so much time that it's not really worth it, especially when you need to use that time looting. Gathering all the crafting resources takes a while, crafting takes a really long time, and then, what about looting? It's kind of excessive.

But otherwise, I think people are taking the innovations of this game -- jump towers, the pinging system, vaults, bringing people back from death -- for granted.

Devs, you probably should know your audience, and I know it's hard being third place behind Fortnite and Warzone. But in terms of technicality and fun, this is the best Battle Royale.

@themojius It's Season 6 where everybody realized Apex is free to play game oriented for new players and all changes are set at them.

    I Saw Apex crash coming.

    Respawn.

    1. You keep "updating" old content. New points of interest last a week. Reintroducing old content. Old events and skins coming back?

    2. You keep changing the meta. You pissing of your biggest fans. The veterans.

    3. You keep "buffing" legends and nerfing others with no community requests.

    4. Lack of content, new map a long time over its need. People by now, know every corner. Looks like developers lost interest.

    5. Overpriced skins, now returning? WTF. Discounted. What happened to the "exclusive".

    6. Skins simply recolored and called legendary. We can see the low efforts here.

    7. Servers are a mess. Dying around cover is the worst ever. NO reg is now the new thing.

    8. Sound! What sound? What happened to the footsteps. Can hear every one across the map, player in the same building, no sir.

    9. Season 6 is a disaster, a watered-down, cheap way to get past 3 months? A NEW MAP WAS A MUST, AND YOU TEASED IT, BUT NOPE?

    10. The lack of a proper reward system will be the end of this game.

Apex Legends has become a JOB. That job you hate, but you go anyway.

Have invested so much time and money, can't give up now right?

  • Omg I agree with every point! And funny how no one has mentioned the ridiculous increase of cheaters this season 6! I mean holy cow almost every single game now there’s a “ oh look! A player with 6000 kills already in season 6!” Not to mention newbs with double hammer, eye, triple squad kills 3 times in a game and 20+ kills in a match at level 20?!? I have invested soooooo much time and money in you respawn (and oh, not to mention with 10000 games played now and still no heirloom and the last 10 packs I opened not even an epic item?!? Wtf) that your lack of support to us non cheating players and to those of us playing since week one is insulting and disappointing.... I run my own business too and care more about my paying customers and loyal customers more than you. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE CHEATING, just look at stats for God’s sake and create an algorithm to sift them out quick...I mean come on! Even if you have 2000 kills with one legend, this season already, suspicious as hell!
