In my experience, 9/10 player in pubs who actually feel the need to vent rage by being toxic are average-to-just above average players who think they are good players only because they hid in a bush through Gold and reached Platinum 4 where they got hardstuck (which they ofc blame on "stupid teammates"). Good players usually dont even bother but just insta-leaves (which I guess can be seen as toxic but actually is a pre-emptive measure to NOT become toxic). I just laugh at toxic players who are bad and in the situations where I actually mess up, I usually just go "yeah my bad I messed up" and that usually is enough for them to calm down.
But like I said; most toxic players are just bad and too stupid to realize that it them and their gameplay that is the problem and not the teammates. Like this guy from a game I just played. Our squad got eliminated in a 3v3 early in the game at the drop and he started to rage and swear on the voice channel but when I finally died last, after I had knocked one and cracked the two others armor multiple times, the summery revealed it was the rager who was the weak link in the team =) Just ignore and carry on.
Ranked is another situation though and it can be so frustration to play ranked with randoms that even I (I never rage in casual) get pissed off. So I actually dont recommend anyone to play ranked without premades close to your peak ELO. There is just too many uncertain variables like misunderstandings, miscommunications and different strategies, for it to be a positive experience.
- @Balladalidila Unfortunately I'm no great player so when someone decides to curse me out and harass me, it's because I am the weak link.
I have good games and bad games. Started the ranked matches when I hit lvl 100. I don't like being a burden on my teammates, and I certainly try my hardest, but I don't think it should warrent anyone being harassed over it.
Like why use your mic at all if you aren't going to use it to communicate strategy instead of harassing your team?
I wish I had more time to try and improve my game play, but it seems like I'm going to be stuck as an below average or average player. - Balladalidila4 years agoSeasoned Ace
The current rank system for lower divisions is a joke since you gains so much free RP for just not fighting which leads to players advancing way above the actual rank that corresponds best to their actual skill level. I have IRL friends who have <1 KD but still manage to "hide" their way to diamond4 every split.... I think the main reason for the changes to a new rank system next split is to allow players at lower skill level to stay much longer/indefinitely at a rank which suits them better. So hopefully, you will have a better ranked environment to grow amongst equally skilled players next split =)
- @Balladalidila I hope it works but to be honest I feel like it will just make it easier to get smurfed.

Yeah there is a risk that high elo players will farm 20k and 4k badges by just play on their Bronze/silver accounts, frag and stomp and suicide before top 14 if the game hasnt gone good enough by then and therefore be able to play indefinitely at that rank. Hope Respawn does something about this too if this becomes normal.

Exactly what i do to prevent getting banned since i started playing.
A huge portion of the rage is bcs of the more than poor mate matching. They could use the tons of metadata they collect to actually match working teams (similar fav dropspots, playstyle, ect.), the question is ... why dont they do it ? Do they want you to be enraged ?
If i see "below 100 kill mates" i just quit ... no offense but it just doesnt work out, the "weightclass" is just off. - @r1ggedgame I agree the poor matchmaking plays a big part in player toxicity, but it seems a poor excuse for those players who do stick with their teams to yell at them and curse them out because they aren't at the same level as the rest of the lobby.
Playing ranked arenas however, you get penalized for leaving, and loose points if you don't win, no matter how well you yourself do in the match.
I bet if they changed the ranking system up a bit, and based points more on how well you do as a player than how your team does as a whole would help a lot with that.
The good players still wouldn't want to be stuck with a weaker team, but there would be more incentive for them to keep trying than for them to think 'I'm gonna lose points anyway with this trashy team so I'm going to game throw" -which is literally how one of my matches went this week when myself and a teammate didn't live up to the thirds expectations. - r1ggedgame4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@XxColdFangxX2 warnings and not a single ban in 2.5 years of Apex.
If someone uses swearwords aimed at me , i just wish him a nice vacation from apex and press report ...
The Reporting system works really well in that regard : someone using the R Word , go report it , will def. bring the toxic guy 1 week on the bench ! We tried it and it works 100%.
But since ppl think the reporting tool doesnt work, those toxic comments go unreported. Mostly due to the cheat reporting , which doesnt really seem to be processed. - @r1ggedgame Oh I do. I don't tolerate it in the slightest, even if I am the weak link in the team, it's downright unnecessary.
