Re: Loading screens; travel delays; not responsive

Here are my details:

macOS Big Sur, 11.6
MacBook Air M1, 2020
16 GB Memory

I have tried repairing my game in Origin and it didn't change it. I do have mods installed but none of them were causing issues before the latest update.

Do you know--if I remove all my mods/CC and then re-add them, will I have to put them back onto my Sims and their houses?

Updates can cause Mods to be incompatible with the current game version and may need updating. If it worked before the update and hasn’t properly since updating, that’s a pretty big clue 🙂

Moving this to the Game and CC forum for further help with CC and Mods.

Yeah, as @Bluebellflora says, it's a pretty big clue when a modded game acts up after an update.  You probably have one or more mods that need to either be updated or removed.  CC rarely causes what you describe so you should take a look at your mods first before removing everything.  Since I don't know what and how many mods you have, all I can tell you is to remove just those and start the game.  Hopefully, you've got everything organized so they are easy to find.  After trying that, if the game loading goes back to normal, just exit without saving.  Then start putting the mods back in, one at the time, and restart the game.  When you get your loading screen issue back, you've probably found the problem mod.  Then it's just a matter of going back to where you got it and downloading an updated version if one is available.  If not then, you'll have to not use that mod anymore.

Mods are still being updated by many creators so you might check back with them from time to time to see if they've updated.

If you find that your mods are not causing the problem, then do the same with your CC.  Some things do become unusable after an update or new pack but usually those just show up weirdly in game rather than affecting the game loading.  And it's always a good idea to remove any that you see that are not displaying correctly.

    Hope this helps.

  • @CGrant56 Thanks so much!! I removed/readded all of my mods and it resolved the issue. It's still crashed unexpectedly once or twice, and I'm not sure what's causing that, but the rest of the issues are gone and obviously that's harder to test for. It's way better! Thank you!
