game frozen due to pop-ups within sims 4 opening

i've experienced this issue multiple times. when i open the sims 4 from the EA app (i've only had this issue on the EA app), there are sometimes pop-ups within the sims 4 menu with 'recommended for you' options. as i am not interested in these packs, i attempt to 'x' out of the pop-up so i can continue to the menu. however since switching to the EA app, once i click the 'x', my cursor is the spinning wheel, and it never closes the pop-up or allows me to play the game. i have even purchased a pack to see if that would remove the pop-up, but a NEW recommended one appeared once the previous one was purchased. i have not been able to play for a month due to this. i have repaired the game, uninstalled & reinstalled, removed mods, removed CC, everything, and i still can not play. has anyone else had this happen?

    Okay so,

When I open my game and try to close the pop up ad that appears it just doesnt close instead the cursor loads (yk it does the colour wheel thing) till I inevitably force quit the game.

I have alot of custom content so maybe its that? But it‘s never done that before

I‘m on Mac and have no storage space issues or anything like that ☹️

    See my answer above yours.

Have you tried your game without the Mods to see if that is the issue? Move out the Mods folder from the Sims 4 folder and trash the localthumbcache.package file.

Okay so, I checked and it works without mods so I assume I should just test out what mod is causing this right?
Ps.: pressing ESC doesn't have.a different effect 🙂
