7 buildings
And only a single p2020 with a bunch of scattered ammo and a thermite, didn't even find armor. Is this really the state of the game 3 months after release? At what point do I actually get to fire a g...
Lol no, when I drop hot I expect there to be a lack of weapons which there kind of shouldn't be when garbage guns exist (p2020/moz). In this particular case I dropped on the outside of slums under the waterfall for those 4 buildings, went to the outskirts of slums and my party had looted the 1 big building by the respawn on the hill but I got the little house next to it (5), went down the stairs towards the cluster of houses by the balloon for the big corner house which is arguably 2 buildings that are connected (7). This happens everywhere, constantly. I have the worst luck in this game and it's something that just shouldn't happen.
I've said it so many times before, if P2020's and Mozambique's are going to be terrible weapons and not be removed/buffed then they need to be a guaranteed drop in every single building and bin. If you're carrying a P2020/Moz and you're out of ammo and you see one on the ground and go to pick it up it should give you a red X if that weapon is also empty so you're not wasting time swapping an empty weapon for an empty weapon.
Hell, I would argue these guns should honestly just be sidearms that everyone can carry around with no access to mods. It's unbelievable how many times I've opened a bin and found a single stack of ammo, a knockdown, and a helmet, or 3 helmets, or 3 knockdowns, or not even 3 damn items. You can have a random loot system that isn't punishing and people have been complaining about this since day 1. Make the FPS game more about FPS rather than luck of the draw, a janky broken melee system, and running around like an idiot carrying thousands of ammo and thermites.
Sounds like a rough patch of luck you're going through. Hopefully it turns around real soon. Surprised that happened in slums, that's usually an area I find some solid loot on a regular basis. I prefer the area in between Wetlands and Cascades because of all the supply capsules you can loot before taking on a squad that likely landed at Artillery. If you can't find any good weapons and you know a squad is in the area, the best option might be to retreat elsewhere so you can live to fight another day.
The devs mentioned before the Mozambique and P2020 were never intended to be amazing weapons that are on par with others. This creates a tier of lower tier of weapons compared to the rest.
Why no P2020 or Mozambique buffs?
We love y’all’s ‘Bique memes, so we’re hesitant to lose that :P
In all seriousness, our goal is to have a power curve of weapons. "Power curve" just means that some weapons will be weaker and more common, while others will be stronger and rarer. Some weapons are intentionally less powerful until fully purp’d with hopups and attachments, while other weapons on the bottom of the power curve are your early game, better-than-melee, but-gotta-upgrade-out-of-ASAP weapons. We’ve seen some good feedback from players about how to make these pistols more exciting without losing out on the goal above that we’re listening to. We’ll be continuing to watch player data and feedback and trying things out internally but for now, they’ll remain the same.
'Patch' would imply it hasn't been constantly happening to me since I started playing the game lol. It doesn't matter where I land, it happens all the time. 1 game I'll land in pit, go to the building south of pit, then east towards cascades with 2 bins outside the little fort and end up with 3 gold items and a fully purple Hemlok/R301. Other games I'll have a P2020 and no armor on the same route. Pit is normally very reliable but every once in a while it doesn't spawn much of anything, and there needs to be more of a middle ground and that goes for the entire map. Artillery is notoriously inconsistent, particularly the section that is built into the mountainside. I can go on with examples but it literally happens everywhere, I would drop more places if they were more consistent but Pit seems to be the most reliable area in the game and nobody ever goes there.
There aren't many 'Pit' quality areas in the game and I'm not suggesting they should be brought up to the Pit standards, I just feel there needs to be some kind of pseudo random loot system where the awful guns are pretty much guaranteed to be everywhere and I fail to see any good argument against that approach where everyone gets a fighting chance. Moz/P2020 (no mods) on holster/3 wouldn't be such a bad idea either, you might even see these guns shine beyond the start of the round while everyone is scrounging for gear and they can get even more meme's out of it.
