Alter needs these buffs

I thought this on release, but the issue has become even more apparent on District: Alters tactical is currently useless in most situations because of how open the maps are. The majority of my fights on District have surprisingly been outside & not in buildings because the building layouts are terrible to fight in & there's just so much empty space between the buildings/ walls etc. If Alters tactical was changed to be like the game Portal she would be so much more viable & fun to play. Her pickrate has dropped to 2%, which although is not unusual for new legends after their season is ended is unfortunate for a legend with such promise. Give her new portal a short range to stop it from being overpowered. Just to clarify it would work like it currently does for ceilings by having a tether to it that you can go into or alternatively after you shoot the portal there is a secondary portal that places next to you. Although legends often need buffs or nerfs to their tacticals to make them less frustrating to play against or more viable to use none feel quite as niche to use as Alters. There is no other legend tactical in the game that requires you to be next to something to be used. Also I still do not believe that her ult should ever time out, that perk should be part of her base kit & should instead increase the ult radius. These buffs would fix her kit & make her much more fun to play; currently she's just too circumstantial.

    Although @flakeeey0304, the "no other legend requires you to be next to something to use their tactical" is incorrect.
    Rampart requires you to be next to her tac, Maggie requires the enemies to be next to her tac, NewCastle requires you to be with his Tac, Pathfinder's grapple has negligible range.
    Horizon's requires you to be close enough to get into it, and for best use close to a wall so you can get on top of it.
    Valkyrie's the opposite, requiring you to be NOT under a roof, otherwise you can't cast it.
    Vantage's requires line of sight.
    Gibby's is close proximity. Same as DOC and watson Pylon.
    Etc.

    Alter's just puts a hole in a wall or floor/roof. It's not really a portal. But, they can't do putting holes in structures in this game, it's not built for that, so they did portals instead. Nice added effect is the rope for going up.

    But I do like your suggestions.
    I wonder what they have to say about your tac buff idea.
    I'd love your ult upgrade idea to be done.
