After testing/playing a lots of games it feels like no change at all 🥳
So the Hop-up is still very very strong, to strong.
The Alternator is awesome when you're not on the receiving end of it. 😃
The sound effect of the Disruptor rounds is so intimidating. Love it!
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry So decrease the damage on it. Under no circumstance should I use a Alternator over an R-99 R-301 considering the options. Took a very basic gun and made it top meta. Do you guys need someone to help make logical decisions on what occurs in the game for updates? Seriously is some like 10 year old running the department, says this looks/sounds cool, but has no experience in gaming, but pushes it into the game regardless with uncharacteristic statistics and testing? a basic thing missing form society is common sense which apparently not many in your department have as well.

Change to Disruptor Rounds Hopup

Reduced the shield damage multiplier from 2.26 to 1.7. It's a minor tweak while we evaluate the full weapon meta next week.

I'll take the R-99 and R-301 over the attachmentless-Alternator every day.

- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry Completely aware and its still ridiculous. It is a small tweak when it comes to a multiplier. So basically it went from 3 shots to 3.5 with a SMG that has a high rate of fire.

@EA_BlueberryWithout the attachment the alternator is 100% a viable gun now though because of the base weapon buff. It's absolutely fine to use just as a gun because you can hipfire it very accurately and don't need to ADS unless you're putting a 2-4x on it to shoot at snipers :D
An idea the team should test internally is making the hopup cause the bullets to do LESS damage to health, proportional to the increased damage to armor.This would mean you either keep the base gun (viable but a very general weapon and outclassed in specific situations by other guns) or you choose the hopup to synergise with someone running hammerpoint.
This would make a hopped up alternator less effective at the start of the game and more effective at the end when people have better armor and would result in some degree of nuance to the use of it instead of the gun being either OP and meta, or underpowered and ignored.

The alternator disruptor is still very common and very powerful. Something still needs to be done. I don't really dislike it being there but I think it's far to common. It needs to be a gold tier hop up and more rare to come by.
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry The hop-up shouldn't be adding a multiplier, frankly. It should add a flat amount of damage, like 3-4 damage a hit. Transforming it to 30+ hit a hit is ludicrous.

Only problem is the Disruptor/Hammer Point hop-ups, the alternator by itself with the buff is a better weapon now. These hop-ups were unnecessary, or at the very least should be only usable on hand guns.

@tr_hybr1dThe R99 is an SMG, and guess what? The Alternator is also an SMG, it is supposed to be on par with the R99, the only difference is the r99 has lower base damage but higher ROF, where as the Alternator has a lower ROF with higher base damage. It comes down to preference at that point.
- 6 years ago@Anlbrd I like this mans idea, where it keeps its increased armor damage but has reduced damage to player health.
Its the same with the p2020/moz. They don't do much to armor but do a lot to health.
Just yesterday I took out 2 players with lvl 3 armor and only used a blue clip for each one on the RE-45
The first guy didnt see me so i knocked him down quick and the next guy fired at me with an R99 and managed to bring me to half health before I finished him. I sure we both hit a majority of our shots but the RE/Alt just shred through health with the hop up. - 6 years ago

I think Respawn should nerf the Alternator base damage to 12 and rebuff the Disruptor rounds to 2.25x damage for shields.
That would cause the Alternator to only do high damage to shields and low damage to flesh. - 6 years ago
@hhnbbfggty66I absolutely love the unmodified Alternator now though. It would be a shame for it to be consigned to being a gun you'd never normally pick up again.
It now feels like the light-ammo-flatline in terms of damage and that's brilliant. - 6 years ago
The Alternator should be very powerful.
The Alternator was the most powerful smg in Titanfall 2 dealing a whopping 75 damage!
The Alternator should have been given 16 damage at release instead of the meger 13 damage.
But now the damage has been buffed to 15 with a 1.7 damage buff to shields.
Honestly,
I think the Alternator damage should be buffed to 16 damage.
And I the the hop up should reduce the base damage back to 13 or 12 with a 2.25 multiplier to shields.
That way you can use the Alternator as a shield shredder or a strong smg.
But as is, currently, it isokayBROKEN!I am just offering solutions..
