Amped Cover Visual Effect
I've recently unlocked Rampart, and I've been having fun learning how to play her effectively.
So I'm playing the game with everything set to low, because my computer is terrible and it can't handle any more than that. Things look fine and 2007-ish for the most part, but amped cover has been causing me some grief. There's an effect when bullets fly through it, like a little hitspark that shows that the projectile went through the barrier so you know it's amped. This is fine, but when using rapid fire weapons this effect becomes visually noisy, and in the worst cases actually blocks visibility, which is particularly true for the minigun. When I'm firing through a barrier (which is something you'd want to try and do when you're in the big loud immobile bullet hose), the amp-sparks are so thick that it's just a permanent blue spot on the screen while the trigger is held down. This isn't an issue at short ranges, but when I'm trying to shoot something at midrange or further, the unmoving blue dot just permanently conceals my target, zoomed in or otherwise (see attached image)
Is this an intentional downside to Rampart's kit to reign in her long-range efficiency, or is it an unintended effect? I've already got less than stellar eyes, and this really amplifies my problem. I don't know if it's something specific to playing on low settings, cause I can't really test on the other options. This is the first and only time in my experience with the game that I've had a visual clarity issue, with the game otherwise having extremely good visuals and UX, which is why I felt that I should bring this up.
I would like to ask, if possible and if not an intentional flaw to the system, that the visual effect be tuned down or made a "ring" around where the shot went through rather than directly where the shot went, or possibly the addition of a secondary setting to toggle the visual component off.
On the other hand, if it's intentional, I guess I can begrudgingly accept the reality of not being able to pull off my ideal case scenario as easily, which is creeping up on an unsuspecting squad and setting up a firebase behind them without their realizing it.
Whichever the case, thank you for your time and continued work.
